The big opening day today…. Im curious to see it, will head up a bit later once the school traffic dies down.
I might swing by after the gym.

Only Woollies, Alid and Dan Murphy's today though from what I understand.

Either way going to be convenient

It’s much better than I expected. There are lots of individual shops open including food court shops. Makes beautiful use of the outdoor areas (though that means it’s a bit of a wind tunnel in some places today).

Aldi and Dan Murphys on the bottom, Woolies, shops and food court on the next level. Restaurants not open yet, but I think are underneath the leagues club terrace, still trying to work it all out!

Leagues club looks a bit sad and broken for now. Going to take plenty of work.

But the centre itself looks like it will be a very vibrant area, and good for the club, as long as we can get people across to it, it doesn’t quite naturally flow from one to the other. The sharks playground should help bring in a few new fans over time

I think the concern is going to be the carpark. How many people will be keen to navigate it and then walk past the food courts and restaurants to the club. It’s the sort of car park I avoid like the plague, but imagine it will be quite ok on a regular evening

Thanks for all of that @SF

Is the car park somewhere fans can park on game day or will it be more for VIPs?
Yeah I think there’s so much still to work out there. At the moment, the car park is free for 2 hours, but charges apply after that I believe. Not sure if there will be some form of “validation” for the leagues club, like at the cinemas?

The DA for the development talked about reserving spaces for football game days. I guess if it’s paid parking that will naturally limit the audience for that.

It seems to me if something wasn’t legally or contractually required, there isn’t going to be any incentive to do us any favours

Yeah i'm getting the feeling that it won't be for game days, but hard to limit that if it's free for two hours. Surely it might be 1 hour free on game day then game day rates apply. I think it's fine to have it as paid parking, regardless of whether you're a leagues club member.

Bay Central Woolooware has been a long time coming, but indications are that many will think it is worth the wait.

There is more info on the parking here too:

Parking is free for entry after 5:30pm if vehicle exists before 1:00am

Please note: The carpark access via Captain Cook Drive will be closed 3 hours before kick-off on game and events days. It will remain closed until 1 hour after the conclusion of the game or event.

(With that second one, the parking will still be open via Woolooware Rd Nth entrance… so still plenty to work out)

Can't see @Sir Chadley leaving before 1am once the club reopens.

Checked it out earlier. More shops open than I thought.

Was impressed.

Not sure when the remaining stores open
Will Have to organise another weekend trip over to see all the new works (and a game of course).

@Sir Chadley Chad,
when is the “castle” available?
Taking bookings yet?

Bit of work needed on the facade 😂 New sign looks good. Nice and quiet on a Friday evening, if it stays close to that, it should be perfect for the leagues club
