Great to be back, beer and food queues shocking though! Must have spent the last twenty minutes of first half lining up and then it drops down to two per person by the time you get there
I was in the beer queue for 45 minutes, then had to ask them to top them up as they'd only filled the cups halfway.

Love the club and am sadly used to paying $10.50 for **** beer there, but I'll be taking a flask next game.

They sold $8:40 full strength cans down at Canberra last week .
Shouldn't be over $10 for scabby plastic cup beers .
I feel your pain and frustration at LONG queue too .
Club could double revenue if staffed and efficient

Yeah I mentioned it in the game day thread too. Sadly the feedback from casual fans was that they won't be coming back and I don't blame them. The line was out of the ground onto the street. They also had half the food options and no water readily available at the bars to fill up. Massive problems.

It was nice to see in all the chaos Dino was down there pouring beers with the staff to help out. Signs of a great leader for the club.

TBF guys, not sure what you would have been expecting.
The ground is still under development so whilst that is the case, there is always going to be long queues due a shortage of outlets.
Once the development has finished, you would expect that there will be more food/alcohol stands to choose from which will help that.
TBF thou, half cup pours are not on and the “can” option is probably a winning, as it is quicker to crack a tinny then to pour into a cup!
At the very least, the tinny is the way to go for now, but then they have the added risk of drunken yobbos (obviously opposition supporters 😉😉😉) who will potential throw them at players, officials, crowd etc……..

Yeah , understand that to be the BIG concern .
But , cans allowed in the Capital .
Fast and easily sold quickly from Ice Barrels at Shark Park if necessary.
Prehaps ban / fine / lock up any can throwing deeekhead , rather than restrictions because of them.

Mate ground capacity is only 12k though, it's not good enough.

As PS said it has turned people away forever.

It's not all on the development. There are usually food stands on both sides of the ground, they were only on the development side. The bars were under staffed. Final crowd count was 11.5k. Which if I remember correctly was less than Dino's quoted 'break even' number. If we can't accomodate that many people there are some massive failings.

I spoke to someone who missed the whole first half in the queue. No idea why you would bother, but that alone is ridiculous.

I think the cans are a good idea. Don’t get me wrong.
i don’t agree with it and they should switch but I just think they would be reluctant to use them for that reason only.

Yep, breakeven is 15k for memory but capacity for this game was set at 11k (Which they reached).
Obviously there are some things the club can do to improve on that. Understaffing is a big no no. That is an easy fix, so is opening up both sides outlets.
Hopefully they recognise that and fix that for next game.
Maybe bombard the club with those suggestions so they do something about it.

I'd give up and go without a beer. No point going to a game if you're not going to watch it.
Yep, that's what we did. Checked the line a few times and just didn't bother.

Yeah heard many people at the ground talking about sending feedback. The problem is it's too little too late. For many of the casual fans they would have come as it's been ages since the last home game. The club just dished up a reminded to them about why they don't bother coming regularly.

At least the footy was good and the finish was exciting. Hopefully that's enough for many to come back next time.

Short story -

The service last night was not acceptable even with the size of the crowd & impact of the development & the heavy rain earlier in day.
Bars & outlets were understaffed.
Lack of food outlets
Prices over the top
With two years to prepare game day entertainment was same old routine ( there was actually more of an atmosphere outside the ground than inside with a band playing)

Fans will not return even if we are winning with a repeat of last night

Will be raising my concerns directly but reminder AGM is on 30th March to voice these issues .

I think cans are probably not allowed by the local licensing police, plus all the stupid restrictions like bars closing after half time, and they probably wouldn't allow us extra bars either.

But the bars were inefficient, when I finally got to the front, there were two registers, the girl on the register was trying to do both cash and get some of the drinks (even though there were at least 4 staff). Probably an issue with first night and new staff I imagine.

They also have closed the little bar under the Monty Porter stand (maybe due to the expected lines).

I am not sure if the bar under the Peter Burns stand will ever be coming back? Hopefully it does, but I know the leagues club is mainly going to be the higher floors.

All in all, I still had a great night, it's just when you think about 5000 people probably willing to spend another $50 on food and drinks ($250,000), it seems a shame.

An element of covid impact if understaffed perhaps? I’m seeing a lot of people isolating over there currently
