Does anyone know the reason why it's shutting down?

Surely you can keep the eastern concourse open plus west, north and south areas?

I get that the Peter Burns stand would need to be closed.

Seems insane that renovating the leagues club would close the whole stadium for two years. Must be more to it than that (if any of this is even based on reality)

Well let's see what the club says, there was no link provided with the two year close down statement.

And the club isn't going to close down for two years if it doesn't have to, they know they'll lose members and income off this potentially.

To close the whole thing down there must be work going on everywhere, which is great, because it needs it.

Nice find mate.

Looking at those designs and if that's what they're planning to do then I can see why it'll potentially render the stadium non usable for a period of time.

Two years does seem like a long time still, hopefully it's less than that.

Guess we'll find out soon.

Where is this news coming from? An absolute ****ing disgrace if true.

What a joke. Which imbecile approved that?

Guess I won't be going to a home game for two years.

Corporate sponsors got a email.

Yeah if you read through the link Snow posted it mentions extra covered seats too.

It's not going to be not Bankwest stadium but it should be a Suburban ground with some modern conveniences the others provide. Plus more importantly the team's getting sick training facilities. That'll help with recruitment and retention too.

The corporate facilities look like the biggest upgrade. I assume all of that space around the ET stadium will / can be used for game day corporate.

Also, that hotel, shame there wasn't a shot showing if the rooms would have views of the game. It looks to me like the ones facing the field would be amazing on game day. You'd think they'd need to offer them as special bookings or something.

Anything facing the ground seems to be club owned and for use by the club in that building, instead of the hotel.

Okay that's smart. We're gunna have an insane amount of potential for corporate boxes then.

The proposed facilities include:
• a new public plaza at the stadium entry. - Apartments Side looks kinda cool the way they have done it
• a new public promenade along the western side of the stadium adjacent to the existing creek. This will inlcude
pop up catering facilitiies on game day. This part is real interesting especially if there are food trucks etc. Ilooks like the the plan is you can also walk around to the family hill end that way
• a ‘Hall of Fame’ for Sutherlandshire located within an indoor facility but extending out into the proposed new
public promenade and foreshore parklands ok..
• upgraded food and beverage facilities and associated amenities
• improved player facilities on game day
• improved green keeper, back of house, and associated facilities
• club admistration offices
• a new training facility of world class standard intended for use by multiple sports
• upgraded corporate box and associated facilities, plus additional commerical areas
• additional covered seating at the on-field side of the facility. If you read the plans there is gonna be at most 140 concourse seats at the southern end and then a weird block of 30 at the northern end..... tthen above this there seems to be these terrace areas linked into the corporate facilities of 45 seated and then 134 seated at the south, 50 odd at the north
• covered parking for 50 cars as already approved in the current concept plan

For mine, this isn't enough seating, unless they also put seats infront of the porter stand.
Long term this may give the option to extend the roof out a bit further....but probably not.

Meanwhile on the other side of the field you will lose the 2 hills each side of the burns, with nothing stadium wise going in for the foreseeable future.

That bit on the northern end looks weird. It looks set back a bit. It would bloody want to be, that area needs to be left for the extension of the ET stand long-term.
