Terrible Tom, just terrible.

I'd prefer not to live next door to a sixteen story skyscraper

Shortest 'scyscraper' ever.

The clubs had thirty three years to just come close to a premiership and so far zilch
33?

I love my club but if you go under, it's because you deserve to go under. Period.

Horrible contradiction in terms.

I can't remember the figure but doesn't the Shire need to provide 20,000(?) more homes by 2020? They have to go somewhere and there is nowhere else to my knowledge with mutual benefits to the community. I guess just as long as you don't have to live next door to it eh Tom? Afterall...

Criminals only live in units?

I hope that pocket lining of green keeps you warm this winter.

Big defamatory statement there. HUGE!

FMD, can we just put the cleaners through the ****ing Dragqueens and shut the ****wit St George fans up for once.

The club and developers should investigate that clown and put a court summons under his nose and sue him for defamation.

Nuh can't say I agree with you Pete. I am really not a fan of this litigious world we now live in.

btw... another one here:

How many more times are we going to have to sacrifice what makes this area unique, in order to bail them out so they can keep coming up short?

Feel free to make intelligent and reasoned responses at http://www.theleader.com.au/content/letterstotheeditor/

How many times has he had to "sacrifice" anything before? I'd love to see a list of all the times, I really would.

Considering that it's private land, I don't see how he is sacrificing anything, anyway.

I posted a comment blasting Tom's suggestion of corruption - They only printed the very final line of my spray (at NIMBYs) and they have also edited Tom's contribution!

Funny how it took my comment to make them notice they'd published libel on their website!

I'm starting to be very worried about what will happen with the development.

The amount of continous whingeing from the NIMBY's leaves me with the impression we may need a back up plan if the development fails to get approval.

There's no point in preaching to the converted Pete.

Get out there and evangelise.

I have been doing that, Fitz.

I wrote a letter to the Leader a few weeks ago and from what I remember it got published.

We need more than just one letter mate.

We need everybody to go on to the The Leaders website on a daily basis and respond to the development antagonists letters and to make comments on all articles published about the Sharks Development.

Saw the open letter from DI in the Leader yesterday. Made some good points and let everyone know that nothing offical has been released yet, once it does everyone is welcome to have a say.

So long as we take care of the traffic issues and reduce the height of the buildings, it would be hard to see the State Government knocking it back.

Why does the height of the buildings matter?

Just in terms of fitting in with the surrounding area. The height/stories of each building will be a key sticking point with the locals. They will say it is an eyesaw and out of touch with what is already in the area. Plus blocking views and spoiling the values of their Million Dollar houses.

I'd imagine the Sharks and the Developers are asking for higher buildings than they want, so they are in a position to bargain.

the only people who will worry about the view are the golfers like shire and hughsey

but if shire keeps getting a back strain he wont be worrying too much hahaha
