I'm happy not to have another ball player in the side, which is a tick for Sorro

Sorro just played 80 mins on an edge and made more tackles than anyone and didn't miss a beat with his carries. he is fit and strong as

he is wasted from the bench. **** williams off completely and just give sorro the 13. who cares if he ball plays or not (wade and nikora have that covered), williams isn't ball playing anyway and Gal was doing simple stuff with the ball at best late career. ffs it's about time our havles got their **** sorted but at least our hooker is looking good in attack now

If you’re rotating a ball player and a non-ball player wouldn’t it make sense to run the ball player off the bench when opposition more fatigued?
Not necessarily. You could argue that starting with a ball player will force more defensive decisions to be made by the opposition and keep the defensive line honest more often, and hence causes more fatigue for when the fresh runner comes on.

All good points but judging him on this year is fair I think.

That 80 minute performance was exceptional - especially when comparing him to Williams this season .

In your head, rent free
if sorro is keen to keep fighting for his spot then there is no reason why he shouldnt be extended

but i like the fact the number 17 is given to the hungriest person, thats how he got it over billy mag

Doubt there is much contract talk at the moment with anyone given nobody knows what the salary cap will be for next year.

For multi year extensions you have until start November before they can be approached by other clubs, for single year contracts like Sorro I doubt any clubs have poaching him on their priority list at the moment.

From the two games he has given us so far this season (and off the back of a strong Cup finals series) I do hope he can run around again for us next year as a cheapie.

Based on what I seen, I would extend this bloke by another year.
After two good games?

Fair enough Matt, extend him by 2 years then
we have extended blokes after zero good games before

Nikora will be better than him in the blink of an eye.

I love Sorro though.

He was once my avatar.

Before I needed the settling influence of the guru.

Tim Smith was once someones avatar but all the same a tough decision but one I respect

As for Nikora, different player to Sorro, both can fill a role and do a good job of it, just a matter of squeezing them in

I have nothing against Boogs, I like his work and he is a club staple but if Sorro keeps up this form I would prefer to extend him over a player like Jason who is at the back end career wise and Sorro has more to prove at this stage. Ideally have both for depths sake but with our salary cap the mess it is...

If he keeps this up more clubs will start to take notice and see him as a quality squad filler that won't break the bank. Even commentators have been calling out his strong games. Players are going to get injured, lose fitness, get rusty whatever over this extended break in the season will be interesting to see how they return (not just our club but others) whenever that next game is. Say we extend him, well there isn't much to lose $$$ wise if it doesn't work out and aren't really in a worse place than we are now

Need to keep his motivation up though, which I feel is more driven by making the squad anyway than earning that next payday but his headspace at the moment seems really good

Was thinking of setting up a poll on what Latrell Mitchell will weigh on his return...

Quiet game, made some nice runs and an error. Felt like he didn't get enough game but there wasn't alot of intensity.

His play the balls seemed slow and disinterested. It's a shame because he's been one of our best this season, and he's probably our best hope for replacing Williams in the 13.
