Does this man get dusted off for a stint in FG this week, in preparedness for the run ahead?
Royce has to earn his way back in as I feel there’s no room for him due to the form of the current forwards. Go dominate for the Jets and lead their pack to try to force your way in, whether thats through an injury to someone else or loss of form. Thats the best prep we could give him if he’s needed in first grade soon.

yea reggies is where a player should be staying match fit and working on things, not the top grade where the stakes are high

I think Hunt was named on extended bench as a reserve against Raiders but prob as a last resort as Tuku got the nod ahead of him

No one in our team is letting us down at the moment - the problem for Hunt is that he is a player that can

Royce is good back up to have but that's all he is for us now I reckon.

If we get some luck health-wise with our forwards I can't see him getting a game.

Depth at best now. Doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near the 17 at this stage.

Think a few are being a bit harsh. He had a few bad offloads in game one, then has missed out. No reason to expect he couldn't take a step up like a lot of the pack has this year given the opportunity.

At his best, he's a very damaging runner. Wouldn't stand in his way if his cap could help us retain Iro and Williams, but I'd prefer he stays around with both of them.

Problem is how often has he been at his best in the 57 games he's played with us? Not many.

How often was Kaufusi close to his best last season with 70 under his belt?
Prob 1 (If I think hard enough)

With current form though it's on Hunt now to force himself back into the side.

For sure, he’s older too which doesn’t help him.

No offence to hunt but we probs ly don’t see him again without injuries so I hope we don’t. If we do I hope he takes the chance and runs with it.

Did solid job filling in as a starter when needed.

Fair but he's 4 years younger.
That’s probably a better argument his ceiling is higher than one we should be expecting to see his best week in week out at around 50 games.

Closer to that count Kaufusi was just an eel most didn’t want to sign (and the rest reluctantly accepted)

Not arguing Royce should be in the side but what are his crimes this year? Chances two offloads against a atrong hard to breakdown side and got them wrong. Not worthy of banishment, he’s just not in the best 17 or 18 atm and that’s fine

I'm definitely not judging him on those offloads, more so his entire time here.

He's very good at his best, my argument is his best is a rare thing.

I have absolutely no issue keeping him if we are able to also retain Williams and Iro. If the only way to keep those two is to use Hunt's money then I'd want him to move on.

Yeah where he is at and where our forward pack is at no brainer to let him chase another opportunity if it keeps those two.
Just highlighting while he is older than Kaufusi many here have backflipped on, he has played a little over half as many NRL games (98 to 56).

They talk about 100 as the bench mark for players to have really settled into the NRL these days so one is right there and looking good, the other still a fair way off.

We are just too deep though with Colquhoun still here too, something has to give somewhere (Dale leaving may have alleviated enough but we've now moved Talakai there).

We could perhaps rejig a contract for Tommy, rather than take up 1 year CO we extend him four years on a scaling increase. It is investing in him but a calculated risk at this stage which could keep a bit of money free up front to help with others.

I could see Kaufusi turning down mutual option for a better deal somewhere if he feels like he has a better chance to keep starting.

Might be relying on Tuks longtime relationship with Fitz to help keep him after next season too.

Yep agree with all of that.

I was definitely not overly keen on Kaufusi last year and in the off season, he's completely changed my mind.

We have plenty of options which is a good place to be for us.
