Went to the game, have not seen any other footage.
Easy in hindsight to bag the penalty goals (attempts), yet if they had have kicked the goals they should have, would have gone to break 16 nil up. Souths are a massive momentum team & them scoring last in the first half, felt like they were leading at half time. Sharks have struggled for years to combat teams when they get a roll on & both Roosters & Dogs against Souths this year are examples of how it's done.
Obviously the intercept was like a 12 point turnaround & Poms being Poms was another 4-6 points gone begging. The game was there to win.
Disagree with the fitness thing as mentioned earlier. Sharks proved against Saints the fitness & muscle is there when they choose to bloody use it.
Hindsight again, Gards should not have played yet in defence, I don't blame the coach as I'm sure he would not have made that decision had he known that Gards was going to limp around all night.
Sandow is an awful bloke on & off the field, yet a good player. Was probably the difference.
IMO no team has ever had a brilliant era without a halfback who ranks within the top handfull at the time. 1st problem that needs to be solved.
Any asperations of a top 8 finish are gone. Sharks need to use the rest of 2011 to be better positioned for 2012. Bringing up several U20's now is not the answer. Give the 20's a fighting chance of having a great year & benefit later on like Sharks back in '90's & more recently Raiders when they unearthed some stars.

is it me...
someone find the stats
but i much prefer our team going up against a team that has won the previous week or has been on a bit of a winning roll, we never in my mind (happy to be proved wrong) seem to get up and beat the teams that have lost a few in a row... maybe its stickys back against the wall coaching style that still shows up in our play and mentallity
.....easier to motivate players when everyone is dissing us in the press.... im just at a total loss as to were to now... roberts maybe but i cant see the bulldogs letting him go mid season... wont be long now and the press will start talking about our long losing streak..... dont know why anyone likes us playing friday nite footy becauce when we lose it fkssss my whole weekend..... end random thoughts

All I want to see is the aggression, commitment and passion like I saw with the Dragons and Panthers game.

I hope that they were not a one off thing.

I just watched the game for a second time.

I really don't think we were as bad as a lot of people here are making out. Yes I'm disappointed in the result but I don't think it's the end of the world.

A few handling errors by the Sharks and the Bunnies took their opportunities and turned those mistakes into points. Souths deserved the win but I reckon the scoreline flattered them.

Thankfully, we've got two weeks to re-group and recover.

All i want to know probably like everyone else, what the hell happened to the rd2 and 3 teams. Surely there must be some explanation.

I think I have to totally agree with Fitz here.

When I was driving home from the game I was pretty shattered. But I managed to catch the 2nd half on telly when i got home. It didn't seem as bad as what I thought.

If we kicked that penality, if Pommeroy catches that bomb, if Tim Smiths try was allowed, if Grahams pass hits Best on the chest instead of Sandow grabing it.

Things could of been a bit different if we held onto the ball and completed our sets.

The thing is, this happens to much to us and not other teams.
If Wright kicks the ball out in the manly game we could og got the first field goal and won.
If Gardner zigged instead of zagging in the Knights game he wouldnt of got hit recover the ball and we win.
If we didnt let fishi get that scrum try we probably would of won the warriors game.
If Anthony Mundine was sick in 1999 we would of won the comp that year.

At some point we need to stop with these excuses.

!00% correct. We need to take ownership of our own destiny and stop sugar coating things.

Vave should get a bench spot. We need impact, and aggression of the bench. Wright and Cordoba are to similar, sure you know what you are going to get with them, but they do not provide impact.

Thought Bakuya was good when he was in 2nd row, probably bring Smith off the bench and have Toops and Bakuya running wide with Gallen in the middle. Gallen stops movements unfortunately.

Again, lack of structure, runners, and actual plays in attack is really giving me the ****s

I'm not "sugar coating" anything. I just don't see that there is much to be gained by hysterical and erratic over-reactions... be they positive or negative.

Disappointing performance (particularly from some of our best players who didn't really have a dig) but it's not all bad - there was still some positives to be taken from the game.

Oh yeah, I also think that it was completely idiotic to play Gardner.

I agree exactly.
Need a big impact off the bench, someone who can bend the line, cordoba and bwright don’t seem to provide that, so mab time to bring vave. Just finished watchin the replay, and around the 60min mark when sandow snuck thu, we had smith off, both cordoba n wright on at same time and sandow ran thru bwright and cordoba in the middle. I guess u could say that Williams injury would have caused some disruption there as Bakuya had to go to the centres.
Plus i don’t think a lot of blame could have gone to tsmith, ok he wasn’t as flashy as sandow, but again, neither was graham at 7 when we beat the dragons.
Looking forward to round 10 with morris comin back at 9. Mills on the wing for Williams? Outside pom.

I'm ****ing pissed off that we went for the 2 on 2 occasions. We could of really put them out of the game and we had a chance to go into the sheds at half-time up big time. Even if we didn't score of that set after the penalty, we could of had a repeat set and tire out the Rabbits players with a heap of tackling in the wet.

Exactly right Jig !!

Us Cronulla fans have always got an excuse , we have bookful , if its not the ref , its something else , we can't live our life or win a premiership on what ifs and maybes.

Cronulla fans for too long have accepted medocrity from their team .

we are fans - we pay our hard earned - some here put in hours of their own time and money to support this team .

We expect results , we expect consistency , we expect improvement.

I'm ****ing pissed off that we went for the 2 on 2 occasions. .

Exactly - as I said in the Flanno thread we suffer from very poor decision making at times and it bites us always

SFA squiddy - but more disturbing was the way we reshuffled the team to cover the loss of Williams. We couldn't even cope with losing a winger!

Pom to the wing was a real clanger.

We also have some of the worst supporters in the world though, Squiddy.

Obviously this applies to none of us there but I have become sick and tired of looking at the club's official FB page and seeing the whingeing and pure bull**** from so called fans on there.

Seriously, if I hear one more person on there say they won't support the club again unless we start winning I will deadset lose it.

The way I see it these people are either Sharks fans or they're not.
