this game was disappointing but I think there are a few things people need to realize.
1. these players are human as well as footballers and I am sure they didn't go out there and say ok boys lets go out there and play ****!
2. a few are in agreeance that there could be something underlying there, Yes they call it the wrong sort of pressure from the coach! The threat of being dropped if you make a mistake, you must win, the concequences of not winning, favouritism of some players and not enough nurturing for others, while they are worried about things like this they are not fully focused on the task at hand and this forces errors.
3. clearly the coach does not have the right relationship with the players to get the results he needs. He only ever raves about the same players and you see some out there that have done something really good and nothing! You hve stapo who hadn't dropped a high ball at fullback who got the coaches award for a game and the next game kelly gets that spot what is that ?????? then had to listen to ricky give kelly all the wraps under the sun. This does not help players at all and kelly played crap anyway.
I think they need to keep the current team together and stick it out they have proved they can get a win and it is only going to help their confidence and games if they are secure and then they can work a game plan out and practice it as a TEAM not a temporary mess!!

who ever was bagging stapo you were a fan before and one off performance and you bag on him same shame shame, if you noticed there were hands involved from the dragons each time he dropped the ball, he is getting better and better he nearly breaks through the line quite often and if you notice he is always louring in the there behind the players ready to support but NEVER gets the ball instead of putting all the emphasos on the so called stars who might I add have dropped more balls than stapo and should know better, give these kids the experience to be able to improve, Keep this team stapo rules!! he scored three tries in his debut year didn't hear much about that! gallen went off with a limp and was iron man and loyal to the team when he came back on WHAT about stapo who was hurt in th early minutes of the game???? DIDN'T come off and came back on with his knee taped and played the eighty minutes, what encouragement di he get, he made acouple af assisted ball mishaps and you want him kicked out your no fan! and as for the one who said his knee would never be any good, Ivan henjack told me wally lewis had the same opp at about the same age and he went on to have a long successful career. that must tell you how tough he is maybe you should encourage him not bag him! I think he could be the dark horse the one no one seems to encourage!!! I haoe he kicks some butt Go Stapo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Pomeroy bashing is simple, he is not a first grade player, Tautai atleast shows promise, the last tiem Poms showed promise I think was in 2008, he is a waste of the cap and should have been relegated a long time ago

No one seriously expected much different, did they? Saints will go a long way to winning the comp this year, we'll languish in 15th unless they backflip and let Storm play for points in which case we'll come stone cold motherless last. No amount of rivalry could fire this one up in to any sort of contest. Just let this one slide and enjoy ourselves as much as we can until our next encounter.

I think it's all been said... but I don't agree with the Stapo bagging. I think he showed some solid courage under trying circumstances playing against a grubby team (and there were some REAL grubby stuff going on out there) and ****all help from his two wingers! He and Collis copped some massive knocks during the game but they kept getting back up and having a go. Fergo had a shocker - but it happens, not his finest moment, now move on and make up for it.Don't go hiding behind the play and drop your head son! I thought Millington had an ordinary first half but improved in the second half - but he wasn't crash hot for mine. Smith has been shown up in defense on so many occasions...and that's soemthing that can be covered - provided he pulls his weight in attack!!!! I think his kicking game needs to be far more aggressive.

However, the real phantom here is Anthony "Harry Potter" Tupou!!!! In all seriousness here, he must have borrowed Harry's invisibility cloak because he deadset was missing for the middle 55 minutes of the game! With about 6 minutes to go his head appears on the TV walking along side and looking on as others make a tackle! Seriously, I was thinking "Where the **** did he come from"???!!!!! He needs to start on the bench and give someone else a go until he is ready to give his 20 minutes per game (which consists of jogging alongside the others, but not touching anyone from the opposing team! He would be better off doing that with an orange top and a water bottle in his hand and let someone else have a go) He does my head in...take your cloak and sit on the bench Toopoo!!
That's not to say he lost it for us.. our most dominant player was that old hack Mr Bad Discipline!!! He dominated and we penalised ourselves out of the game in the first 30 minutes!

P.S - Ricky must find room for Porter in the side!!!!!!!!!

He is a fringe player though, much like Creagh or Pritchard. Our problem is that we don't tend to use him like other clubs use those players. I agree that maybe he should inject himself a bit more, but I'm sure he's just waiting in the position he feels obligated to patrol. I mean, look what happens you throw the ball out to Pritchard in a position like that. Tupou can be just as devastating.

His defence has, for the most part, been pretty solid.

On the rare occasions we're not defending we struggle to hold onto the ball long enough to bring Toops into the game. Or he's knackered from slugging it out of our 20.

Us not ticking over the score board isn't the main problem, its just where the cluster**** of a lot of smaller, less noticeable problems become very bloody apparent. The lack of results at the line is the result of bad footy everywhere else.

We have now won 5 games in 6years under Robinson. and he does the same thing to us every game. im really sick of this bloke. can anyone find out how many games he has been ref for games and how many we have won and how we have lost. it would be good if we could find out the penalty count first half and second half. if i could find these out i would send them on the NRL, not that would do any thing because its only the sharks.

Yeah I really agree with alot of people on here who think Gallen is doing so well with his stats at Tupou's expense. Gallen has been amazing and one of the few who fights every week but I would'nt be surprised to see toops getting the ball passed to him and Gallen diving in front and catching it like he was a bodyguard or something. I think Toops will be better when Gallen is away at Origin but he needs to find a way to involve himself more in other games during the year since we will only play 2 games without origin players!

It will probably be like with our halves that once we start being better with the ball and having some possession then Toops will come in to his own. Which would mean this is yet ANOTHER problem caused by our butter-fingered players dropping the ball.

The only thing I disagree with you on is Toop's defence. There have been good moments but he has been terribly inconsistent and missed some SOFT tackles leading to tries, even in the last 3 weeks.

Brisbane, it's crap
I say this all the time and I'm going to keep saying it until he's back (fingers crossed)....we need Covell. Please, anyone wanting to throw tomatoes or any other type of fruit/veg...save it for a salad! I cop enough in QLD.

Oh yeah.....Some guy honked at me this morning as I was waiting to cross the street and he gave me the finger!! Alll because I had a sharks jacket on.

Anyway.......Covell get better soon!

I am a big Covell fan but he was not important enough to be to blame when we were losing or an excuse now when we are still losing. He is a solid, experienced player who we are adequately covering for at this point as Gordon has done a solid job. Enough so that Covell will struggle to get back into the team unless he is 100% fit and ready to go.

Guys we were nerve going to win this I had a good idea we were going to cop it thought I do think the ref helped a little he has always made sure that other teams get off to a good start when he refs our games check the history and you will see.

Anyway what's done is done we cant fix what happened we just need to move on we don't have another came for two weeks so lets find something else to bitch about.

jesus that was hard to watch.

the whole team needs to look at defence(actually its hard to comprehend what happened on sat night after the great defensive display against the knights).fergo was the main culprit in the backline, rushing out of the line then tackling no-one-he was clueless.

we cant keep blaming the refs.(as terrible as they are) - it sounds pathetic after we've been toweled by nearly 40.

the years gone as far as i'm concerned.stick needs to run the guys he thinks will be long term prospects and give some of the real workhorses(gall, snowy) a break here and there.

i will still be watching and any win we have i'll be treating like early xmas presents.
