tupou doesnt have heart for the sharks
barrett either

snowden and gallen in my view are the top players so far and i would be disappointed if snowden doesnt get rep call but yet we need him on the field for us.

i wouldnt be upset or surprised if kelly gets called on for penrith game and stapo moved to centers. tautai would have to go. barrett seriously i dont know, hes just lost all passion.
I would pick this team
1.Kelly/Stapleton
2.Ferguson
3.Collis
4.Stapleton/Pomeroy
5.Gordon
6.Barrett <-------PASSIONLESS DRAGON WHO SHOULD BE REPLACED BY SCOTT ****ING PORTER
7.Smith
8.Snowden
9.Aiton (should of always been starting hooker)
10.Vave
11.Douglas
12.Tupou
13.Gallen <--------------------CAPTAIN

14.Bukuya (comes back round 10)
15.Wright
16.Millington
17.Flanagan

gallen proves each and every game that he is THE REAL ****ING CAPTAIN OF THE SHARKS DAMMIT STUART!
not some washed up exdraggie

btw Porter can play 5/8, that what hes NSW cup coach said.

you can disagree but i mean no harshness or disrespect. im just fed up with no results.

Why would you drop one of our best this year? Morris hasn't played one bad game for us...

one of the jobs of a fullback is to defend as a last resort when the bad guys break the line. i wouldn't put my confidence in fergo in this regard

We should get a message to the club that it is unacceptable to us as fans that the players are going in to games believing they are going to lose and voicing this to the media before the games start. I know we are coming last but ffs - yesterday, I thought we could win if we played to our potential. I know we have the personel to do it.

I have never heard of a footy team making comments like that before.

I don't know what went wrong, the first five minutes we were looking good and then the heads went down shoulders slumped and that was it.

They looked so focused during their warm up.

Arrrrrrrrr well, can't change what happened, lets see what happens next week.

:cheers

Guys and girls, I know last nights game was a shocker, I was pretty depressed by the display we put in, but we have to get over it and move on.

There's not much point playing the blame game at this stage, the team we've got is what we've got. Same goes for the coach.

The main thing to remember is that we supporters whether we win or lose. I was equally devastated after the game against the Bronco's but remember, we came back and put a good win on against the Knights.

The Dragons played almost perfect football for the first sixty minutes or so last night and with a big leg up from the refereeing, kept us out of the game. Everything that could go their way did so and we did ourselves no favours by putting our heads down and forgetting to concentrate on the basics.

There are some positives still to be gleaned from last nights disaster; Vave showed he is a future star, Snowden seems to get stronger each game and Gallen never, ever gives in. If only some of the other boys had his heart!

We just have to write that one off, turn around and start afresh against the Panthers after the bye. I think we can put in another display like we did against the Knights and score another win.

Hope to see a big crowd turn out and support the Club, we can only improve after last nights game!

Once again, I could only watch the first half as I had to get to cricket, but the feeling of inevitability did set in pretty early. Iron's absolutely right. I hate losing to those pricks and to get thumped hurts all the more but watching them play, they really do the simple things right. They're playing with confidence and belief (it's practically oozing out of them) and unfortunately it's confidence and belief that is very fragile in our team.
There are no easy answers (they're never are) but it is certainly easy to be a supporter in the good times. It's the hard times that show just how much you're willing to stay the course. Well said Iron.

One thing that annoyed me a lot was our very very poor kick and chase.
Every time we put a bomb up, no one chased! they just started walking and the dragons back 3 pretty much had no pressure to catch the ball.

Even worse when we kicked long into the corner...
our line was always staggered with a few of the boys chasing while the rest just walked/jogged up slowly. Led to easy metres / line breaks for the back 3.
Douglas was leading a lot of the chases.. common! his no where near the fastest in our team
Just hope ALL the boys put in some effort in the next game vs the panthers or we will get ripped again

Fergo's one of our worst defenders. He basically added nothing to last night game. He hasn't really done anything since the eels game.

Last night was one of the few games I didn't get to watch so I can't comment but I would agree that generally his defense has not been crash hot.

I guess I am just hesitant to take him off the wing which removes one of our few try scoring avenues (you gotta replace him with some other bludger).

His defense at centre or fullback could be just as much a liablilty as wing and his attack in such positions is not proven unlike on the wing. I guess you could say we have nothing to lose in making positional changes but I can't help but feel it's all a bit trivial.

I mean we can argue what side should take the field untiil the cows come home but until we adopt a game winning attitude and ricky lifts his own game on the coaching side we may well continue to be shuffeling deck chairs on the titanic...

My question is, why would you drop anyone for Pomeroy?

Hey guys this "Pommeroy bashing" has got to stop. I thought that he was playing really well up until he got injured and with Collis he can do heaps of damage in attack, also his ball handling and positional play have improved this year.

I have not seen a Sharkies team defend so poorly for many years, it's a major concern and there is definitely something wrong with our boys mentally at the moment, i have no idea what is going on but it is busting me up to see us being humiliated by old foes stgeorge, manly and broncos.

There seems to be a flying of the white flag happening atm.

The mail that i'am getting is that Birdy wants to come home to roost and he wants to play 5/8 for us next season. We NEED the bruise brothers back together asap.

Let's just hope that they are learning something from it when they lose.. Losing without learning from the loss is even worse....

I made the trek down and left at 24-0 couldnt take anymore. Must admit first time to that ground, i rate the ground but seriously St George would have to had the most imbred supporters I have ever seen. I had some merkin commentating the whole game like he was rabs.

Rubbish. He has got zero confidence with the ball & no idea in defence. Baring injury, he will be in reserve grade.

Cronulla's whole back line against Saints was terrible. There was no communication, confidence or trust in defence. Some guys will improve with experience but Sharks need to start thinking about buying a quality 5/8 & a centre for 2011.

To have 4 rep teams announced & Sharks managed 2 players from 68 shows where our line up is.

Pomeroy was doing fine before he got injured. In a performing side he would struggle to keep a place in a performing side but this is far from a performing side. I would have Poms over Tautai in their current form.

sadened by the atittude of some people!

this game was disappointing but I think there are a few things people need to realize.
1. these players are human as well as footballers and I am sure they didn't go out there and say ok boys lets go out there and play ****!
2. a few are in agreeance that there could be something underlying there, Yes they call it the wrong sort of pressure from the coach! The threat of being dropped if you make a mistake, you must win, the concequences of not winning, favouritism of some players and not enough nurturing for others, while they are worried about things like this they are not fully focused on the task at hand and this forces errors.
3. clearly the coach does not have the right relationship with the players to get the results he needs. He only ever raves about the same players and you see some out there that have done something really good and nothing! You hve stapo who hadn't dropped a high ball at fullback who got the coaches award for a game and the next game kelly gets that spot what is that ?????? then had to listen to ricky give kelly all the wraps under the sun. This does not help players at all and kelly played crap anyway.
I think they need to keep the current team together and stick it out they have proved they can get a win and it is only going to help their confidence and games if they are secure and then they can work a game plan out and practice it as a TEAM not a temporary mess!!

who ever was bagging stapo you were a fan before and one off performance and you bag on him same shame shame, if you noticed there were hands involved from the dragons each time he dropped the ball, he is getting better and better he nearly breaks through the line quite often and if you notice he is always louring in the there behind the players ready to support but NEVER gets the ball instead of putting all the emphasos on the so called stars who might I add have dropped more balls than stapo and should know better, give these kids the experience to be able to improve, Keep this team stapo rules!! he scored three tries in his debut year didn't hear much about that! gallen went off with a limp and was iron man and loyal to the team when he came back on WHAT about stapo who was hurt in th early minutes of the game???? DIDN'T come off and came back on with his knee taped and played the eighty minutes, what encouragement di he get, he made acouple af assisted ball mishaps and you want him kicked out your no fan! and as for the one who said his knee would never be any good, Ivan henjack told me wally lewis had the same opp at about the same age and he went on to have a long successful career. that must tell you how tough he is maybe you should encourage him not bag him! I think he could be the dark horse the one no one seems to encourage!!! I haoe he kicks some butt Go Stapo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
