This is how it goes - Flanno knows that the roosters know that Bird knows that Flanno knows he isn't playing at 6. But Flanno knows the roosters know that he knows they know that Bird knows that Flanno knows he isn't playing at 6 so because he already knows that they know and we know and everybody knows in the end nobody knows exactly who knows what.

That is Flanno logic 101.

That is pure Sir Humphrey! :)

We are absolutely screwed - Completely lost the plot.

Basically, Flanno has picked Beale at 5/8. Bird was playing centre those 39 minutes last week, Beale was actually playing "5/8" for the vast majority of the time Bird was on the field against the Titans, except those last 6 or so minutes when he switch Wade back there and he threw 'that pass'.

So Beale played 33 minutes at 5/8 or something. But rather than actually playing 5/8, he was just roaming around the back like a fullback looking for second phase play. He barely touched the ball, was not anywhere to be seen on the last tackle plays, and did not have any playmaking role at all. We weren't playing an actual 5/8, just a 2nd fullback that defended in the line. This is obviously what Flanno wants to do with Barba, stick him in the 6 jersey but just have him hang around like a fullback support player and pass even less than he was before.

The only playmaker we have is Robbo. That is pathetic. Our tactics will be one-out runs with forwards hoping for an offload. We will not be using our mobile forwards to pass the ball, like what was occurring late last year with Shep as the stand-in coach.

Get ready for wooden spoon boys. It's happening.

So Bird will play @ 6 then!

Didn't Bird play at 6 for Newtown in Round 2 or 3?

How'd he go there?

I know that Murphy would be a better option but give the kid a shot, what do we really have to lose?

Coincidently Robbo's tactic of 1 out up the guts would have won us the game last week

There is a good chance that Beale will play five-eighth.

But in the long run, it wouldn't be a bad idea having Bird in 6

Have Holmes control the backline movements inside the 20 and use Bird as a hole runner and have Barba chime in also.

Flanno could pull a Sticky and put Gal in five-eighth though.

Bird can hit holes from centre.

Its hard to advocate for the dropping of either Luetele or Beale. Luetele is a runner with potential footwork operating outside Wade who gobbles up all his space any space he might provide Feki. Beale is getting the ball either too soon or too late for him to use his feet which is his go since he doesn't have a power game.

Given all that I'd personally replace Beale with Bird. Jack looks good on the right side and there is no prop, stop, dance and go in his game. He'll be firing on to the ball which suits us better.

Chadley's Preview - Sharks v Roosters

Is this game the mismatch everyone thinks it will be?

Will the Sharks be able to turn things around or will the Roosters continue to dominate with their high class backline?

Shane Flanagan promised changes to the side beaten by the Titans last week and surely there must be some desperation in the ranks. Paul Gallen has said his team is not panicking and I'm hearing from other avenues that the squad is tight as a unit and working for each other.

April Fools day rumours of a bust up between Gal and Wade Graham were very much an egg-saduration which had many people cracking up over the lame yolk.

The Sharks young guns get their chance to shine here and the likes of Valentine Holmes and Jack Bird will be out to prove they belong in the top grade. The Sharks senior players need to step up here after not leading the team to victory last week.

The Roosters will be without Blake Ferguson but they still have the class in the backline capable of ripping the Sharks defence to shreds. Pearce and Maloney are in fine form and have provided the spark and direction in recent weeks. If they fire, it's hard to see the Sharks holding them out.

This is a game that the Roosters should win and win well. The Sharks will come out firing and I believe they will be much better but I think the Roosters will prevail by at least 10 points.
