We were 100percent farrked over by the refs. To suggest otherwise is clearly ar$e kissing Bill Harrigan!

I've been very pleased with both our wingers which has been a real surprise this year. Both seem good defensively and I'm no longer nervous when either are running the ball back because they dont seem to spill it like wingers of years gone bye!

Hahaha I cant believe people are suggesting dropping Wright for Stapleton.

Stapo's one of our best players at the moment in our NSW Cup side. For the first time since 2008 his knees are fully healed. He's playing fantastic footy and I think is currently above Wright for a spot on the wing.

I really like having a player of wright`s capabilities sitting on the wing, he has great skill.

Wrong - we were the better team - outplayed them - got robbed full stop.

I'm not the kind to blame **** on the refs normally - but here are the facts:

  • No penalties awarded to us 2nd half when they were getting away with murder as far as offside & holding down in the tackles.
  • George Rose try off a blatant forward pass.
  • Cherry-Evans field goal off an even more blatant forward pass.
  • No advantage ruled after manly had passed at least twice and gained at least 20 metres.
  • Avalanche of penalties in a row to manly (4) that gave them too many sets of 6 in a row and made us defend way too many tackles (they still had to throw forward passes to get past us or get rediculously arsy with kicks that pinball off nuffies to a lucky player).

Like I said - get a grip.

We played far better than them - get behind our team.

I am behind our team. I'm trying to get us to learn from this. I have got a grip. I want us to be the team that rises above this sort of thing, not whinge and carry on.

I value Shane Flanagan's opinion over Jimbobs.

I'm not even going to justify that with a proper response just an out burst of laughter. :lmao :lmao :lmao :lmao :lmao :lmao :lmao :lmao

Ok maybe I should respond properly. Wright has been one of our better performers in first grade not NSW cup through-out this season. Believe it or not it is a big step up, look at Porter for example. Flanno had his reasons for choosing Wright over Stapleton and his reasons seem to be working to me. If Stapleton is so good why would we need to put a centre on the wing instead of him?

At the end of the day Stapleton couldn't cop the pressure of a TRIAL how the **** is he meant to cop the pressure of an actual NRL game?

What about Queensland Cup form. I am currently working with a bloke who was starting prop for Burleigh Bears last season and from all reports went very well. However he has given the game away, lets sign him and drop Cordoba for him, he went well in Queensland Cup.

Matt Wright is a great player and Stapleton is playing good as well. That's how an NRL team should work. Competition for spots is great. There's no need to say one is **** and one is good. If they're both playing well then that's a good thing.

My position on this has always been that I put faith in the coach to know who is the best to select. When Stapleton was favoured Flanagan knew what he was doing. When Wright was favoured Flanagan knew what he was doing.

No problem exists, which is great. I think we're too used to problems so we start bitching about ones that don't exist.

Great post. What's the problem with having two blokes both playing well in the hunt for the same spot?

I 100% agree with the bolded part in particular, and I think its a bit of a problem. We need to stop whinging about things that are not only not that bad in comparison to recent times, but are utterly out of our control, and focus positively influencing the things we can control.

I like stapo as a player and hope he keeps the form up as it is great for the squad to have competition but wright has adapted really well to the wing after that first game and I reckon will soon be one of the best meter eating wingers in the comp for wingers. Some people are forgetting how young he is he only turned 20 in january and made his debuted when he was 18

I agree with the posts regarding trust in Flanno.
At the beginning of the year I was a bit surprised at the selection of J. Williams, M. Wright, Cordoba and B. Wright and I think they have all played really really well.
Injuries are inevitable. We've been lucky so far but these other fellas will get a crack.

Sharks Zero Tolerance Policy At Toyota Stadium
19/04/2011 12:31:19 PM

The Hisense Cronulla Sharks would like to make a statement regarding the club’s last home game at Toyota Stadium.

Unacceptable behaviour by a handful of patrons on the North East Hill resulted in a patron being removed and arrested. An injury to a police officer occurred during the removal of this patron.

The club is disappointed by this incident. In order to avoid a repeat and to maintain the safe and enjoyable experience at Sharks Football games for all patrons, particularly families ,The Sharks will have a zero tolerance policy in future to bad behaviour, foul language and a lack of respect towards others.

Patrons in future will be asked to leave should their behaviour not be respectful or acceptable and our security contractors and event police will enforce this policy.

These measures will ensure the club continues to be a fun, safe, and respectful environment for all members, fans and visitors.

Other issues were highlighted at our most recent home game and have been rectified, these include :-

• Access issues and delays for patrons using the western car park. This issue is not due to inadequate staffing and has been identified as being a result of poor control of the pedestrian traffic at the entrance of the car park. Measures will be in place to improve this at matches in future and the club asks for the co operation of pedestrians and drivers whilst controlling this access point in future.Members, Sponsors and fans are also encouraged to use public transport or take traffic into consideration if driving to give themselves enough time to get through the gates of Toyota Stadium.

• The club is also working with police and security in relation to the exiting procedures of Toyota Stadium at the end of games which were inadequate at the most recent match and which have been rectified for future games.

• Long food lines were experienced at our most recent match and this has been addressed and rectified for future matches. Our new match day caterers Red Events Pty Ltd will be increasing the number of outlets and staff for all future games.

• The Sharks would also like to clarify media reports regarding our catering at home games. Red Rooster is not the caterer at Toyota Stadium, nor do they offer pies and hamburgers for sale. The caterer at Toyota Stadium is Red Events Pty Ltd, Red Events is a Red Rooster Franchisee, there are also separate Pie and Hamburger outlets.

• Bar service will also be improved with additional staff and outlets and the addition of more can bars

• The Cronulla Sharks football players, board and management ask ALL spectators consider others whilst attending game day and be aware of this zero tolerance policy.
