those crying we dont get fta games need a bullet. if this is the display we put on, im happy for the world to not see it happen (on a 1 hr time delay)

im glad we dont get it, it was such a painful thing to watch, and im not talking about the horrible football, there must have been 80minutes of ads, not to mention the pop ups on the screen and gus spruking some ****ful show on 9 we must see. not to mention no half time game dissection, nothing. **** off 9.

I didnt even watch the game.

I heard the first half on the radio, then just updates on scores. I refuse to watch that ****.

The friday night live game i can handle. Being live is different. But this time delay **** is so pathetic. Channel 9 should have a Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday arvo game, all live

imo, Channel 9 and the governance of the NRL are destroying the game and it is getting to the point where i dont know if the game will be around in 20 years.

Tide to turn next weekend.
It's got to , or forget 3014.
Fix right side defense and play against a cocky team at Shark Park
I still have the faith we will bounce back for this game and WILL Back the Sharks at good odds.
Our season starts next week and for all those who put bad vibes onto Robbo. Please withdraw them.

i agree mate. The game is a circus. Its so obvious how hard they are trying, and they dont need too. The best thing the NRL has going for it is the fact it is Rugby League. We dont need flashing lights and Jessica Mauboys and ****in Michael Slater. We dont need emphasis on crowd numbers. We need emphasis on the game itself. Over refereeing….2 refs, double the **** ups. Any ruck penalties should be 6 again. No kick for touch. The consistency of hold downs and hand on balls etc is poor. The easiest way to fix this would be too have less of a penalty for an infringement in that area, as they are quite often unfair each way.

We are in a world where you can get a full hd camera that straps to your surfboard adding no weight, you can edit these down to very slow motion and still have clarity. Our video ref system is a joke in itself, but the fact they work with 1980s porn picture quality doesnt help. Super slow mo is a must for everything from touch in goal and dropped balls. I have no doubt Morris' 'best try ever' he would have dropped that, had we had access to better quality than a polaroid slide show, it would have shown that

Now I have no Rugby League playing experience whatsoever. I hold no coaching certificates, I don't profess to be a great analyst of the game. My tipping record backs that up. But if I can see how disorganised, disjointed, underprepared, slow, one out, soft in defence we are, why can't the coaching staff?

For what it's worth, here's what I would do with team selections this week.
TC is busted. He is not 100% fit and got absolutely nailed today in a tackle! Wouldn't surprise me if he broke ribs.

Give him the next month off. Train as normal, work on his fitness but most importantly get himself refreshed. He has the most pressure on him, he is the playmaker but ALL opposing teams now know if you shut down Todd Carney, you shut down Cronulla. He looked really frustrated out there today.

We are already behind the pace as far as the season goes and if we somehow get back on our feet we will need TC firing on all cylinders. So let's rest him now.

Ayshford and Jono need to shake hands with the NSW Cup coach. Likewise Prior and De Gois.
I was going to put up my team for the Warriors game but couldn't find any replacements for the ones I wanted sacked.

I would check with the NRL and put Brown up there. Hang it, even Lichaa, though he's gone to the dogs. De Gois is sadly out of form. Morris is still OK to start but I'd have Lichaa on the bench and if we can get salary cap dispensation put Brown at 6 for a few games.

Could not possibly go any worse than today.

Add to that the NRL is scared of being scrutinised and refuse to take blame.

The whole thing from squaring up penalty counts, to treating captains like **** when talking, the constant video ref calls, (to some people) taking away the shoulder chargers.

15 years ago it was easily the most exciting form of sport around the world. Soccer has always stayed consistently popular and always will be, AFL has improved, union has always had a steady following, the australian cricket team and game itself is on the rise with mino countries being included.... yet our game has taken 10 steps in the wrong direction in all areas.

Do we really want every try broken down to a frame by frame? I don't begrudge Morris his try. Technology is the problem with league today in many ways. It can be analysed to death and only half the punters will ever be happy.

remember last year in a Knights game the Refs were caught on their mics talking about a penalty square up (think it was against manly or parra). they said something like, ' if we arent careful this could get out of hand, we need to even this up'. then bang 3 back to back penalties.

If im looking for a word

corrupt

or another

unacceptable.

Very clearly remember that, but of course nothing is made of it. Pretty sure they have a word for it as well that they call out when the

Coaches get fined 10k or whatever it is for calling them out on it, but these ****s can ruin a game of rugby league because they are scared of copping heat.

Wasn't the count 7-1 today to the knights and it ended up 7-6 or something? Its ****ed.

Oh and corrupt 100%

Mate your bang on the money with less penalties, unless it's a blatant attempt to slow the play the ball down just leave it alone. Every ****en tackle the pieces of **** want to blow a penalty. Half the time the crowd is asking WTF is that a penalty for. And the bloke with the ball only has to look at the referee and ask for a penalty and the referee will give one. One very big problem ruining the game.

The Knights copped a bad decision too with that no try to Gagai. How they ruled that forward off Boyd I will never know.

Which players out of our back line today would actually scare any opposition defences?

Only Carney and Gordan, and one of them clearly wasn't 100% fit, the other went off injuried.

The rest of the guys are barely first grade standard.

With only Feki and Beau Ryan missing, not much is gonna change.

We don't have a great list of juniors coming through, so what is the answer? Doing a Gus Gould complete overhall?

carney to full back , holdswortg and morris in the halves and degois as hooker

at least then we would have one less speed hump in our main defence linw
Problem with that is you take our only attacking creative threat out of the halves and put in morris who is poor in those positions. It also gives the worst hooker in the comp a full game...
We needed points today just like we will next week and the week after, defense was a problem today no doubt but need to find a solution that doesn't involve major positional changes such as the above.

Btw how would Carney go under the high bomb? It's been years since he played at FB and even when he catches it he will get smashed by the chases or when he takes a hit up from our line. Will he be able to stop one on one a player breaking out of the line and all while nursing that hammy. See what I mean...

the pass by todd when he was getting run down mid field, ruled forward pass? was it so? he was looking behind him when he threw it and ball went behind him?
It was forward 100% refs got it right. Carney's passing was uncharacteristically off today, I know he was being chased and under pressure but nearly always he would get that ball passed to where it needs to go

You guys see the boys play live a heap more than I do . I am interested to know if we always seem a bit slower in most aspects of the game than the opposition . I realize today is a poor example as we got belted but we just seem to be pedestrian

Unfortunately yes in 9/10 games we are slowler than the opposition in nearly all facets and it looks worse this year with the rule changes we are not adapting to or handling.
