Normal extra time. 10 minutes each way.

And if no result after that, I'd have no problem with a replay. Another game, more money etc.

So if a fan has just paid 150 bucks for a ticket, you'd be happy with him paying another 150 bucks to actually see a team lift the premiership? Replays are unreasonable in the modern day, people have to plan there lives in advance now. 10 minutes of extra time, then just keep playing till we have a winner.

If I was the head of the NRL I would double the price to 300 and I would bet you'd pay up :)

Yes, yes I would.

The fans are never guaranteed that they will see their team win. They have bought a ticket to a game of football. That is all. The result is always up in the air. And personally, I'd rather see my team draw to go on to a replay than to see them lose. Even if it meant that I wouldn't be able to attend the replay. The NHL have a finals series where it is the best of seven. It may end after four games, it may not. I don't see the difference. They are a much bigger sport than little old provincial Rugby League.

Anyway the point is that golden point is a piece of **** and we'd be better off with a set playing time for extra-time. If that means playing 10 minutes each way until someone wins at the end, so be it. They can keep doing it all night to avoid a draw for all I care. I just think the idea of golden point is stupid, totally unnecessary and a ridiculous way to determine the winner of a game of Rugby League. It might work for other sports, but it's not a fair system in Rugby League for many reasons.

But, the only way it'll get fixed is if the Sydney Roosters are beaten by a sloppy field goal in golden point after a ref has refused to give a blatant penalty the other way in fear of determining the result.

A big team is going to have to be stung hard in a big game for it to be changed.

Few years back st kda v collingwood played out a draw down here and there was a replay, I get it was a massive cash cow to afl but the week build up to game 2 was lame everyone is primed and ready for a result on grand final day. It may be different to either teams supporters I guess...

I remember, that whole week is one of the reasons that I think replays would no longer work.

The biggest difference between the NHL system and the replay is that people know that's what's going to happen and can plan their every day lives around it.

I was going to mention this. The replay and lead up was a non event, did not have anywhere the same feel as a 'normal' GF. It has to be decided on the day for mine.
