I'll actually be a bit upset if we don't win this game. Our season is on the line. Mentally, if we lose this, it could spark a run of losses in the last two rounds which could put us out of the 8.
What I mean is the subconscious thought after a loss in this game could very well be "Well, they're the premiership favourites, we couldn't beat them so there's little chance of us winning the comp. And once that mentality sinks in, it can put you off for your next game or two.
I really hope the players are going in to this game believing they can win it. If we play at our absolute best, there's no doubt we can. We may not have their point scoring ability but when our game is on song, we have the ability to make it hard for opposing teams.
Now, we've hardly had any line speed in our defence this year. But if there is one game where it is not only necessary but critical, then this game is it. We need to be in their face, show them it is not going to be an easy game and give it to them. Be aggressive as much as possible.
Apparently the Roosters are the most penalised team and we are the least penalised. Interesting stat. If that trend continues then we may have the possession required to beat them.
If we win you can bet its not going to be by a big margin but remember against Souths at Shark Park, when we had Gal, Lewis and Gordon out, we were not supposed to get anywhere near them but won 14-12. Probably a similiar scoreline if we do win.
