i said it in another thread...

fifita and heino need to start to combat the aggressivness of the roosters bog forwards.

kicking to the wings, not early, and pin them down there.

LOD out is good news for us, he has been in good form.

i reckon we will be competitive, but go down by 8

We stay competitive for most of the game but the class of the roosters will shine trough and they'll run away with it eventually. Our lack of try scoring ability will hurt us again.

Yep they can certainly pile on the points fast. In their recent games scores were close at HT against Penrith and Wests but they blew them both apart in the second half. I just hope we're competitive. A beating at this time of the year wouldn't be good for our confiedence.

I think (hope) the boys got a bit of a scare last game and it will be a timely wake-up call to go back to what we do best. Grind it out, up the guts with plenty of smoke and play no-frills footy.

That is what got us back in the game on Saturday night, committed defence and making big metres through the middle with our big men. Look at the metres gained in the second half by the Sharks when we hold the ball and smash it up.

Look what we have done to Souffs this year; taken them on up front and come out on top and they have a bigger and, arguably better pack than the Roosters. Especially with Cordner, O'Donnell and Guerra out. Kennedy is not there either.

We can win this game but it won't be by scoring lots of points. It will have to be in an arm wrestle.

The roosters are due for a loss, I suspect they probably even wan't one before they head into the finals.

Let's all just hope it happens this week!

I'll actually be a bit upset if we don't win this game. Our season is on the line. Mentally, if we lose this, it could spark a run of losses in the last two rounds which could put us out of the 8.

What I mean is the subconscious thought after a loss in this game could very well be "Well, they're the premiership favourites, we couldn't beat them so there's little chance of us winning the comp. And once that mentality sinks in, it can put you off for your next game or two.

I really hope the players are going in to this game believing they can win it. If we play at our absolute best, there's no doubt we can. We may not have their point scoring ability but when our game is on song, we have the ability to make it hard for opposing teams.

Now, we've hardly had any line speed in our defence this year. But if there is one game where it is not only necessary but critical, then this game is it. We need to be in their face, show them it is not going to be an easy game and give it to them. Be aggressive as much as possible.

Apparently the Roosters are the most penalised team and we are the least penalised. Interesting stat. If that trend continues then we may have the possession required to beat them.

If we win you can bet its not going to be by a big margin but remember against Souths at Shark Park, when we had Gal, Lewis and Gordon out, we were not supposed to get anywhere near them but won 14-12. Probably a similiar scoreline if we do win.

As far as the line ups go, I have a little feeling that Stapo could come in for Feki. Not sure it will happen but just have a feeling.

As IronShark said this game will not be won by out scoring them. If we try to match them in that department we will get smoked. We cannot afford to try and score off every single play like we have been. We need to go back to building pressure and scoring after a few sets on their line, tire em out and strike at the most opportune moment.

Bring them down to our level, make em fight hard and fight long. We are one of the better teams in the comp at dong that. If we try to play at their level we have no chance. Get em bringing it out of there end all night, and dont give their backs room to move.

I really hope Pom is ready because he could be the difference in defence. If Jennings scores one on him early he will be ****ed, but if he can get an early shot on him or wrap him up, that may give him a bit of confidence.

Ill be at this game so i hope we can get away with a win and move on to the biggest day of drinking of my life the week after.

Yeah we actually have a good chance if we get them in an arm wrestle.

If we pressure Maloney/Pearce and wrap up SBW we will be right in this one.

IF we can do that i'm not sure if they have the intestinal fortitude to get in a dog fight with us.

The thing that scares me with teams like souths, manly, melbourne and easts is the pure speed in which they play. Watching us attack the line compared to any of those teams makes us look like an under 12's side.

It is so scary watching the pace of them and the ball speed and the shape they get themselves in. When we played Melbourne they could have scored off of evey player. It was awesome to watch and made me envies.

They can't win forever, we can be giant killers at home. Us by 2 if we show up in defense and get them in the grind.
