I wasn't impressed with Arona last week. He did fine but nothing to write home about. I reckon Roqica has to be given crack, if not just for the extra size he adds.
He was on during the Warriors repeat sets, played like 10 minutes and made 17 tackles. What weren't you impressed about?

It probably doesn't matter whether we pick either Arona or Roqica, but at least be realistic with it. Roqica got his chance last year, averaged 50 metres and didn't bring much to the table. He doesn't have to be given a crack. It's just a whatever.

That's funny, I remember him bending the line but being crap in defence and making handling errors.
he was busy in defense, only thing he bent in his hitups was the crease on his jersey

ofcourse their were handling errors

I like Roqica, but I want to see more fire and intent in his runs. Arona is the 'safe' option I spose

Whether it's Arona or Roqica, I just hope that they are actually used. Gallen needs to learn to take a break. He has been comparing himself to Parker as an 80 minute workhorse in the media, obviously not realising that Parker has been playing 60 mins the past couple of years. That's all Gal needs to do.

Like it's not like we are playing Taulima Tautai as a prop on the bench. The guys we are picking and not giving minutes to are actually decent players.

Gallen should have to learn how to take a break, it shouldn't be his decision if you know what I mean.

Agree on this, I seen Gal do a interview late in the origin series where he talked about how his role for NSW has changed/evolved over the past 3 years where he isn't required to play the full 80 minutes anymore, ie his was insinuating NSW had a strong bench & forward rotation.

I remember thinking straight away, 'hey Gal, the sharks bench or forward rotation is pretty handy as well compared to most other clubs in club land, maybe take that view with the sharks as well, ease up, share the load around, give the opposition some food for thought as to which player is coming at them & what skill set they bring'.

Dunno mate. There has been some talk around that Bennett is purposely pulling Brisbane back a bit to have a little down patch before the finals. I don't know if form can be controlled that easily.

I don't think its so much pulling them back, just changing up their training workloads with an eye to have peaking again come finals. Short term it might slow them up a bit but when they're top 4 certs its less of an issue to drop a couple now. I don't think coaches or players give a **** about minor premierships like fans/media do. Brisbane will happily concede minor prem for a strong finals campaign.

Last time I saw him playing for us on FTA he was bending the line. Was a while back, don't get to see as much footy as the pay tv peeps though.

I'm certainly confident in our physical ability to match it with the Cowboys. I'm even confident we can shut down their most dangerous players.
But I'm not confident on the mental side of things and especially if the Fifita brothers cop a end of the year suspension tonight. I just think knowing they are out of the side for the rest of the season might just be a body blow to the squad.

I'd hope that we'd have enough experience in the squad for that not to be too much of an issue mentally.

guys like Gal, Lewis, Ennis, Heino, Toops, Gordon etc really need to get cracking if they ever want a(nother) premiership.
