What a **** crowd i must say. I dont buy into the rain and weather ****, look at newcastle and broncos, they seem to get a lot of rain and you see footage of there supporters getting drenched at times. But still turn up.

I agree, poor effort by the people of the shire/sharks fans/footy fans in general. I guess Newy and Brisbane have better stadiums that are more accomodated for wet weather though.

looks ok to me!

I'm sick of people using stats as a reason why someone has had a good/bad game. I think this has been mentioned on here before but I think it started from Fantasy League/Dream Team. Good stats only tell part of the story.

Metres run is a stat that really annoys me. There's a big difference between the metres Nathan Gardner runs compared to the "hard" yards Luke Douglas makes. So how can you compare?

Say if a forward has 10 runs for 100 metres. On the surface you can say he has run 10 times for 10 metres each time. Sounds good in theory. But what if 1 of his runs was a 60 metre dash after a dropped ball and then some poor defence. That leaves his 9 remaining runs for 40 metres.

Totally agree. Stats and figures not worth a piece of **** unless there is context and commentary to build a case.

If u read TT above stats and didn't watch the game, u would think he went well. Well sorry, he was back to his usual dumb arse performances that cost us penalties and momentum. So glad his going back to Eels!

it had been a long time since i had turned a sharks game off before full time, but i was so angry saturday night that at the 70th minute i turned off the TV.

As a shark fan i've learnt to deal with the losses and disappointment of losing games we should win - if we want to be a top 8 side then there is no way (even without Gallen) we should have lost on Saturday night.

I know the boys are trying hard but I think two loses now gives Flanagan and the rest of the side a reality check and hopefully some changes will happen. TT out and Stuart Flanagan out - i'd like to see Kelly get a chance on the bench and Mannah get a real go as he showed good signs on Saturday.

And should we lose against the Broncos put Townsend down to NYC so the sharkies can have a real go at winning that comp

I agree. I was so disappointed with the numbers that turned up. Even if the weather was threatening (although there has been much worse conditions in the past) and we got flogged last week, it does not justify the low turnout on Saturday.

The fact that we lost so convincingly the previous week should have been enough for Sharks supporters to come out in force to make sure we were loud enough to help get them over the line against Newcastle.

Everyone expects the team to do their part and win these games but they aren't prepared to do their bit by showing up and supporting the team. It's pathetic really, especially the locals who didn't bother to come.

Don't they realise how lucky they are that they only have to go down the road to see their team play, when others, such as myself have to travel hundreds of kilometres to get there? What I wouldn't give to be in that situation.....

The lack of crowd was an issue for sure. After getting smashed by the Dragons and the rain all week most "fans" stayed at home. The truth is that we have a limited band of loyal supporters. Most people only go to the footy to see the team win. The Shire is well know for that.

You need a big set to be a Sharks supporter and follow them week in week out. Most people can't do that.

Th crowd was absolutley disgusting! I was absolutley livid with the people of cronulla... I pulled myself out of bed with the worst case of the flu i have had ever to get to the game. I said to the bloke I went with we should go around to the houses after the game and abuse people for not going. There really isnt an excuse!

I get flagged for my posts all the time and get warnings for them. Still not going to stop me from showing my support for my team and getting the ****s at frauds like yourself.

You know all you had to say was that we played **** etc. If you haven't noticed yet the thing that annoys me the most is the fact you expect the team to lose and have no confidence in them.

How many games have you been to this year anyway?

I think in fairness to the fans it's hard to have confidence and belief in a team that looks to have no confidence it itself. I didn't see this game but by all accounts it sounds like they dropped their bundle in typical fashion once something weant against them. I think they have gotten used to feeling sorry for themselves after years of dissapointment. Ok so some of the problems still come down to talent, structure and executing a game plan but how long do we need to wait for these things to click? This team has to take responsilibty as well.

I think supporting and believing are different things. Turning up to the games and wishing the team all your best, buying merch is great and something supporters can do. While I think most of us feel we can win anygame and want our team desperately to get that win we still have our doubts about how and if that is actually going to happen and I think that is fair when you consider the dismal performances this team puts forward at times. We have not proven to fans or the NRL that we have a quality team, one capable of winning when it's required against whoever the opposition (consistantly). Until then we won't be getting through to the business ends of playoffs and might not even be making top 8's.

Enough of this "reality check" nonsense. We have seen the reality all year - despite our best team in years we don't have the mental stanima or application to play quality, competitive footy week in week out against decent competition.

This shouldn't be misintepreted I'm still behind this team and will watch the rest of their games with anticipation - I love seeing them do well and they make me proud when they do. They have shown potential this year that we will draw on and gain from in the future but I'm sorry to say that 2011 will be another season that got away from us and we are more than a few "tweaks" from being a good side. Sure they "could" win all the rest of their games but they won't, I just do that see how they can do that with the team in the state it is.

And while it shouldn't negate the validity of my comments - no I wasn't at the game but have been to a few this year home & away. Ironically one was against the Broncos which was another game our team had little interest in and they were wiped of the park. You know, the one where Flano and Gal apoligised to the fans...

Come on Sharkies get it together!

Unfortunately, what I foretold before the St George game came to be true.

I just wish that these games were swapped. I wish we played Newcastle first, and then the Stains.

We would have put 13+ on Newcastle if that was the case I reckon, and we'd have lost to St George and then almost definitely lost to Brisbane, but then would have had the Titans at home and would have seen that as the path back to redemption.

Unfortunately the team allowed the Merge game to defeat them physically and mentally. We are now only a mathematical chance of the top 8 and it is the Dragons that ended our season for us. Not because they won the game, but because they beat the team mentally. I can't think of anything worse than that, and it is a worse defeat than what we gave them in round 2.
