I didn't see the replay on 9, but Andrew Moore on 2GB was ripping into Robson's kicking game, was it really that bad?

yeah we found it hard to hit the turf with our long kicks, especially in the first half. Maybe Robs was missing our usual go forward to give him space

I hate it more when we kick early one of the ruck and put in a poor chase. It just gives up easy metres. If you are going to kick early you have to atleast throw it two wide to draw up the wingers. We kick on the fourth and they bring it back to the 40. ****ing crazy.

He got a couple of repeat sets but everything else was blah. Townsend is a much better fit for this team. Flano can't see the forest for the trees.

Townsend has a weird floating long kick. It seems to hypnotise the opposition sometimes.

I've never seen anything quite like it but I'm still not sure whether it's good or bad because it doesn't get to where it's going very fast.

Yeah, but it hits the grass more than Robson's guided missiles.

We lacked line speed and they made easy meters with there sets, add a poor day with the boot and we never really seemed to be on top

I heard gould talking about a tip sheet today. hell, you know the ones.
this dude cant pass left, this donkey cant buck, take heed of wingers propensity to dive.....

so is a tip sheet an integral part of the game plan? i'm guessing yes.

so what was in our game plan today i wonder ?:?
I know most teams have a plan b, and sometimes circumstances are beyond one's control.
But from my limited perspective surely kicking on the 3rd tackle when you need to score
seems absurd, especially against a team like the dragons that doesn't leak points or for that matter
wont make rookie mistakes.

Don't get me wrong i'm loving this season and appreciate we have a lot of upside to come.
but if our plan b's are like leaving de gois who has been our fulcrum, on the bench
when we needed speed and alacrity to overcome a deficit, then i'm am extremely
misguided in my summary.
:drunk i guess it's time for another.

Yeah I'm over Robson , Chad would really do a lot more for our team then him I think this pairing has gotten a bit stale. As mentioned above Chad does have a lot better long kicking would take a lot of pressure off Carney in this aspect. Chad also plays with a bit more speed then and Robson just seems to be in 2nd gear giving inside balls with the occasional dummy.

I think Chad is a lot more of an attacking threat and this again would take some pressure off Carney as he won't be swamped every time he gets the ball.

I'm thinking De Gois must have been a bit low with the flu or something, I kept looking for him and kept seeing Morris

Alot of people calling for Chad to replace Robson, but will Flanno do it this far into the season?

yeah de go wasn't his usual self. i don't get on here to bag players but fmd i thought green was ordinary. not sure of his game time or stats but every time he got the ball he was very easily tackled and then took an age to play the ball. send him back to queens and keep friz!

today's loss should be a timely (and hopefully productive) reminder that we have a bit of work to do yet.

go sharks.

prior to this game there was a distinct over-confidence going on accross the shire n i didnt like it 1 bit,, i tried to keep all my mates at bay reminding them of the bad times but few could hold themselves back. whilst we arent in too much danger of making the 8, making the top 4 is crucial in the new finals format and given our final 3 games are against souths, storm and cowboys,, we need to win all the games we can to ease a bit of the pressure going into these games, then allowing us to get into our naturally flowing footy style right on into the finals

To me, on top of our lack of attacking prowess from within opposition 20, another big problem is a lack of support play backing up for the last pass on all of those half opportunities. Sure our long kicking game was poor and our forwards were uncharacteristically weak for large portions of the game, but we just need to finish off our attack and we can win these kinds of games that we don't dominate positionally. I recall Isaac Gordon being quite a good support player when he filled in for Gardner at fullback last year. Even though Wright has been very solid and strong at fullback, I would consider moving Gordon there for his speed and support play, instead of occasionally moving him there towards the end of a tight game.

Remember guys, we were without an extra 350 meters and 70 tackles in Gallen and Smith today.

We missed gal and smith, that is a big one., plus with the flu on
Half the team it doesn't help.

However still some poor plays with TC and Robson .

Funny thing, the power nt out at the stadium and I nearly had a nose bleed due to the location of my seats. ( why would you have rows a - f at the top, they are always at the bottom)
