i disagree. there has to be a time to rush up and a time to slide. mid field and when you've got them under the pump down their own end, bringing the whole line up makes sense, it physically stops the attackers from making meters. we rushed up against the Broncos for the first 25mins and completely rattled them. they had nothing, nowhere to go, we destroyed them right then and there with that tactic.

sliding seems to be more useful back on your own line when defending a potential try. we have a pretty good structure here and are generally pretty successful. but when you try and slide around in the middle of the field you bleed meters. want proof? the last two games. it's an easy 10m before they attempt a tackle and many times the forwards are able to milk a few extra meters. Dragons went about 60+m several sets on sunday when really we should've got up on them and kept them deep in their own territory.

Rushing defence takes a physical toll even on elite athletes that it can really only be sustained for a short period. No team can rush off the line for the full 80. There is a reason why we dropped off after 25 in the Bronco's game. And sliding on your own line? WTF?

You can't keep that type on intensity up all game though. Yes, we destroyed them for the first 20 minutes but if Stapo doesn't take the intercept we probably lose.

Edit: Teflon, me agreeing you is not a good look :glasses-cool:

Haha. I'll have you stop it right now Harold. I've got a certain reputation to uphold on here. :)

Hahaha. I see you also have the same line of thought on Lewis and Smith. This is not a good look for either of us mate.

alright fair enough i don't know **** about sliding defense.

but seriously, even in short bursts, rushing up has excellent advantages. there's plenty of interchanges, use them wisely to combat fatigue. weigh up putting a team right under the pump for 20-25mins against being under the pump on your own line, defending repeat sets time and time again. i think the answer is pretty obvious. a few solid defensive sets coupled with strong attacking play puts them under the pump and you in control of the field, the ball and the game.

or maybe you guys think being under the pump and bleeding heaps of meters is cool, in that case i'm wrong.

People are not going to like it but it makes sense. An also I support anything that proves Flanagan has rocks in his head. See below.

Recent speculation has suggested the Sharks were keen to offload Smith to his former club in a bid to squeeze Penrith’s Luke Lewis into their 2013 line-up.

But Flanagan confirmed to the Mercury he has plans to facilitate room for both players.

‘‘One hundred per cent - Jeremy Smith will not be going to the Dragons,’’ Flanagan said.

‘‘Consistently, he’s been our best player, he’s on contract until next year - I’d have to have rocks in my head.

‘‘It’s absolutely ludicrous that we would let him go.’’

We missed gal and smith, that is a big one., plus with the flu on
Half the team it doesn't help.

However still some poor plays with TC and Robson .

Funny thing, the power nt out at the stadium and I nearly had a nose bleed due to the location of my seats. ( why would you have rows a - f at the top, they are always at the bottom)

Your not kidding, I hate the design of Win stadium, especially the stand that curves around the corner, I had seats around the corner next to the hill. Could not see a damn thing.
