Disappointing is the only world to describe today's performance.

Sunday arvo, 17000 odd people at the ground, 18-0 up and comin off 2 wins - we had everything to play for.

Almost certainly we get the spoon now.

I describe today's performance as Business As Usual

This team just can't handle a good decent crowd at home, they always ****ing choke, and it's always after a few good wins that brings the crowd out in the first place. Year after year of this BS!
They only seem to perform when backs are to the wall and are given little to no chance

I knew they would have a brain fart if they got well ahead on the scoreboard. Instead of just getting on with things like in the first half and attacking and offloading they become more conservative and lazy along with it
Disgusting but unfortunately typical Sharks

There is no clue with the so called leaders in this squad/club

I'm amazed at some of the comments here .

Even at 18 nil up we were barely in the game , I said at that time we would lose.

Why ? We had 60% of possession in the first half , repeat that 60 f'n per cent . Knights still crossed the line 3 times albeit 2 were overturned , even so Knights were still making ground at ease in every set , the possession was always going to turn around and we were going to be in big trouble , and that's what transpired .

Wasn't a case of us not closing out the game , it was a case of us not competing full stop , oh yeah when a team takes a field goal attempt in the first half it's assure sign that we are panicking and not in control .

and we had sponsors on the jersey! When Tommy bishop snapped our last spoon and vowed that's what it would forever remain, he never - not for one pico second - imagined such an inept performance would be possible. Where were our leaders? FMD! Absolutely inexcusable. We suck massive arse.

Can't tell you how much it ****s me to see players who have just ****ed up an 18 point lead standing around and laughing etc with the opposition at the end of the game.

Geez the Mason and Gidley tries were soft. Tim Robinson has to come in for Taga.
Also, I love Feki.

Why is leutele not hanging off graham for an offload he nearly broke through every time he ran it

Weak game typical sharks though

I'd have to disagree my good Squid.

The field goal was the first sign that the team was trying to protect their lead rather than drive home the advantage.
The second was the constant kicking into the backfield to try and pin Newcastle deep in their own territory, rather than put up a high attacking kick using the breeze.

The Sharks played with a siege mentality and it gave a pretty poor Newcastle the chance to get back into the game... which they duly did.

And it'll keep happening if we don't change that mentality.

Any chance the Sharks can play for 80 mins. 3 weeks in a row we've only played half a game. the halves especially Robson needed to do a better job of taking control of the game early in that second half and settle the team down after not getting the ball from the kick off to start the second half

The momentum shifted when we dropped the ball on the kick off after our third try.

We did however make a good case for Suburban ground footy today great crowd numbers
