A lack of coach and halfback doesn't make the rest of our roster ****.

Day after the afternoon before... Lost each half by 6 points, had our chances but that's what is the difference in a close comp, good teams make the most of half chances which we had done the 3 games previous, live n learn, get this circus finished with on Wednesday night with no injuries and let's get the train back on the tracks. ( true believer)

I didn't see the whole game. But my impression was that Manly were on bigtime. Not many teams beat them at Brooky when they play like that. Now that they've got all this other **** out of the way they'll make a run.

That said, the Club should be aiming to be one of the few teams who do beat Manly on days like that.

I was expecting Manly or more so DCE to be on fire, for me, neither eventuated, Manly won & looked as good as they did because of us, I don't think they were on, they were there to be beaten if we have of played decent.

Maybe it's to many chiefs not enough Indians.

Yep the way I see it as well, add in a half that messed up a few times and well we were gone.

So if Robson may be a better talker then Murphy what is Robson actually talking, ****?

Disagree AB, Manly weren't crap but they weren't on fire, the game was there to be won.

Don't know why people are being critical of Flanno, he's not the one dropping the pill over and over. This was always going to be a tough game without Ennis, I said before the game we'd lack direction and we did. Still, if we hold the pill the result would have been much closer.

We will be a better team next year with two real halves. Until then, I suspect we'll continue to be frustrated this year.

I'm inclined to agree with this. The thing is that there are games when the handling is outstanding (think Souths and to a lesser extent Roosters), and then games where the handling is atrocious.

It is hard to understand how the same playing group manages so readily to move between the two extremes. We have no idea which version of the Sharks is going to turn up.

Agree with above re Flanno. We actually made a few line breaks and only the great defence from Stuart stopped potentially a few tries for us. We hold onto that ball and we win that game.

So I haven't been able to watch the game yet.
Is it worth me watching today?

This.

The problem with this team is consistency, or rather, lack of consistency.

Which for me indicates a lack of discipline and being well drilled.

I agree but Leutele consistently fails to use his winger, or takes the wrong option when presented with passing or running. I just wonder if we can't do better.

I think our biggest problem is fear and lack of belief. We know how to make the effort, but lack the belief to follow it up. So often we're like a deer in headlights when presented with scoring opportunities. Look at the set that followed Feki's break in the second half. We just went one out toward their line till we ran out of tackles. After a break like that there needs to be clear and decisive action because the defence is off guard and the try line is vulnerable, instead we just didn't know what to do next.

Yep. We needed to be more ruthless and less conservative and hesitant close to their line. Sure we dropped the ball, but we also took the wrong option when attacking their line a lot.

Lack of attention to detail in attack and fear of making a mistake. They have been the flaws in the Sharks since Stuart took over.

Before all the Flanno and Robbo haters start, surely we all agree we lost because of simple mistakes - not some basic lack of coaching or vision etc.

If we held onto the ball we won that game. Plain and simple.
The ball is dropped often because players are pushing passes or trying an unrealistic offload. They often do this when they think nothing else is working. Flanno is completely the reason why more often that not nothing is else is working. Johns and Gould are right sadly. We look ugly in attack most of the time.
