Why is the sport going down the ****ter you ask?

Because over-opinionated reporters such as yourself rebecca dwell on every tiny negative headline.
Love or hate the footy show they mentioned it for about 2 minutes then moved on.

Cronulla has just had one of the greatest turn around wins in league history, it will get a 1 page write up in the paper. If you want the sport to be held in high regard, ****ing write about the good things!! Its not hard. Spruik the sport to the world. There is so many great head lines and moments just on the field, let alone stories like phil gould opening the doors to a young guy with a broken neck to help him rehab his injury and will pay his uni fees so he can be a teacher, or a north sydney bears player savings a young girls life in the surf on the mid north coast.

The media has the most control over the image of this sport. They choose to emphasise the drama and half report the heroics.

Beccy mentions sharpe stared at a training paddock with no players. No, sharpe was at a specialist appointment, rumoured to be cos of a dodgy ticker. Why are the sharks players in the bad head space? Because yourself, massound and hooper basically said the club killed jon mannah. As soon as the todd episode occured the sharks stood no chance. Beccy has had it in for todd for years.

Journalists or whatever they call themselves will kill the sport. As shown by the sharks tonight the sport is bigger than 1 guy. So why must the press place such importance on individuals all the time. Report the game, not the theatrics

It's a leg injury; Sharks website now says it's a calf injury, which can be pesky to get rid of.

So with Gallen and Lewis due back next week, who drops out??

Vave and Sop would be for me, but thinking it will be Sop and Robinson.

Then you have Hino.. Who would be a coach seriously!

Clearly the forwards depth is solid, I thought Robinson played very well, and Politoni's service at hooker was a lot better than "metal shoes" Lichaa (Seriously, he's like a late-career George Gregan, 3 steps before each pass, slow off the mark, tired after 12 minutes, etc etc).

But yeah, using the Brisbane match as a guide, it looks like Vave as gone ahead of Gibbs in the prop-pecking-order, so if Hino/Gal/Lewy all fit for Rd 18, maybe Gibbs+Robinson+Politoni/Sopoaga. The hooker spot will be interesting, to see whether they leave Politoni on the bench or instead go with Arona as the make-shift hooker again.

Even the newspaper journos seem to be feeling some butt hurt.

Can't believe so many are talking about the roosters scoring a try in the dying seconds only for it to be somehow disallowed by the video refs.

Who the hell is saying that?

It was clearly held up.

This is just one example from AAP but I've found it to be a bit of a recurring theme. Probably by writers who threw their piece together from watching the highlights reel (This article also referred to us as "The Sharks, full of misfits and NRL rookies"). Who were the misfits in the side I wonder.

Roosters centre Mitch Aubusson dived over for what appeared to be his third try 11 seconds from the finish to steal the points.

Referee Gavin Morris ruled no-try and, with TV replays proving inconclusive, video refs Steve Chiddy and Steve Folkes were unable to over-rule.

Filthy Roosters fans hurled abuse at referee Morris after the stunning conclusion.

Gotta give it to Trent Robsinson, when asked if the roosters went to sleep he basically said no, the sharks just kicked it up notch.

Good to see a coach admitting defeat rather than excuses and blame.

Aubusson and all the players knew it was a no try, credit to Jono and snowys man (Gordon) was a great tackle, so was napa's on Robinson...
Sheppard
Morris- assist coach
Gagan, Robinson all have very impressive win/loss records now.

Gagans try saver was the best. As they said the guy was over the line and gagan kept him from grounding.

Robinson would have scored if he dove

Kudos to Mickey Gordon..scored 5/5 including those two from the sideline. If he misses one of those five goals the Roosters would have had it won. Also helped to save that try by Aubusson. Jono Wright was solid as well.

There was no way that was a try. Daily telegraph journalists just don't understand the game or rules or give credit where credit is due.

Oh that's right....they hate the Sharks. Let's put a negative spin on this - 'Sharks didn't win it - Roosters were robbed. It had to be a try'
