if it went upstairs it was a penalty for double movement IMO however at the time had my gf not been with me at the game I was about to jump the fence!

I've watched this plenty and I don't think it's a double movement as his arm never advances the ball. He drives it over the line using his legs which, as I see it, is the same as sliding over the line in the wet, it is legal. Anyway, doesn't really matter now I guess!:p

The most annoying thing is simply the fact that the moron didn't even take the time to send it upstairs, when just about every other try in the game had gone to the video ref!

Agreed, especially given the fact that Gallen repeatedly claimed the ball was on the line.

I'm a bit iffy about whether it was a try or not, but for the ref not to go upstairs was totally inconsistent with not only this game, but every other game throughout the season.

As snowman pointed out, that play (or decision by the ref) changed the whole context of the game.

Exactly. If they go upstairs and then come back with a "No Try" decision or even a "Refs Call" and they turn it down, I wouldn't really complain. I may be disappointed but at least they have performed their duties correctly.

With the way they award tries these days once it's up to the Video Ref, that would of easily been a try. As others have mentioned, even if they did award it No Try after the video ref had looked at it, I would of been slightly less pissed. But since we didn't even get a look in, thats what really had me pissed off!
