Yeah I saw that.
That little lap dog Ek, Pk, Tk, Kt or what ever his name is
was saying how the Sharks would not be missed if they weren't there next year and the comp would be better etc.

He thinks he is funny..He couldn't get a laugh if the audience all had laughing gas.

I want him to say the same thing in front of the Sharks players next game, instead of hiding behind his crayons and view master.
:inyouget

Tk, what an idiot he is. Dont even know how he got on the topic of bagging the sharks. Him saying what he said shows me that some people have a personal vendetta against the sharks and want them gone from the NRL.

I was calm about tonight. Obviously disappointed that we lost, but I was relaxed when I turned the radio on for the first half and watched the 2nd on tele. I haven't been like that since about a May 2009. Reason: I think we turned the corner last week. Everything isn't quite so frantic any more.

Sums up how I felt too, mate. We were the better team in the effort department. We put in like that every week and I'll be a much happier man. I agree we look like we've turned a corner, especially in defence which at times took me back to 2008.

A lot of positives to take from this match and if we continue to improve, looking at the rest of the field, well I don't wanna get carried away and its a complete backflip in opinion from me but the 8 doesn't seem such an unrealistic task anymore.

Looking forward to next weekend, for once. Gotta hope the Chooks put in a good performance tomorrow at the Goldie cause they usually back up a good show with a poor one.

I'll probably get bagged for this, but does anyone else think that Fergo is playing a little lazy? I mean I'm sure it comes down to him not getting enough ball, but whenever he is returning the kicks it's like he's skipping. For someone with so much speed and such a great fend I don't know why he doesn't charge it back - even if the player tackles him he still makes an extra 10m as opposed to dancing up to him while the player gets closer and still gets tackled.

You won't get bagged from me, I've been pretty disappointed with Fergy for 3 weeks now. Not so much in attack but in defence. He can come across as looking like he's trying but not giving that extra effort that would see plays shut down. The break from Parra last week that saw Mortimer link with Burt, Fergy had ample opportunity to take Mortimer but was happy to jog along next to him. The week before, I can't remember which try it was but Gordon made a better effort from the other wing.

His urgency on kick returns is becoming a bit of a worry he could of eaten up an extra 15-20m on most his returns last night but seems to prefer running towards sidelines instead of try lines.

i will point out one thing i noticed

the amount of times John Morris was at 1st marker, the bloke was there for 4 tackles out of the set, every time a tackle was made, yep there is Johnny..

I thought our work out of marker was great across the board last night, but you're right JMo was probably the stand out for it.

I hope those calling for Smith's relegation from the top side for next week have calmed down and smartened up a bit. He had an absolute shocker, but dropping him is not the answer. I doubt he'll play that bad again in his career, and the opportunity to redeem himself has to be given to him. He knows exactly what he done wrong and really the less said about his performance last night the better for all involved, I think.

Barrett and Toops were AWESOME. If Baz can play close to that for the rest of year, not just after an Origin snub/chance to play game 2 then I got no worries re-signing him.

did anyone else notice in the 10th minute the referee behind the attacking side(broncos)signal knock on, whilst the referee behind the defending side signalled 6 to go,don,t tell me the referees don't influence the result in a game.

Hate him or love him, Hasler was on the money; the game is professional, the referees are not.

If it weren't for the refs in Townsville last night I would of cleaned up on that Cowboys game.

Yeah, also you didn’t happen to watch our 20’s? We got in front and I knew they (ref) would give them a penalty to get em back down our end – the penalty was bogus as the tackle was completely around the shoulders. It cost us the game I thought!
I hate them, hate, hate, hate – the number one problem with the game today!

Drove down to the game from Brissy overnight and only just got home..... Was an awesome feeling walking into the ground for the first time ever was more than I ever imagined it could be was such a different feeling than Suncorp stadium it felt like there was more culture and a family feel to the ground... Although the conditions sucked and the result was even worse was still happy to sit in the CSSC and enjoy the rain spitting down and singing with the CSSC paying out Thiaday and his eating habbits :) Cheers To Fitz for the tickets and great to meet IronShark.....

Even tho we lost I was still happy to be there and enjoying the atmosphere :p

Go the Sharks

I am sure this has all been said before, but this is my take on the game.

Tim Smith was the difference on the day between a loss and a win. I like the guy as a player, have since he debuted. However a few more performances like that and I will be driving to Cronulla and chop off his foot.

Now to another public enemy: TT. His defence was great, he hit Thaiday hard and a lot. Also kept Izzy quiet, which is no easy task. Yet again though, his hands let him down. That kick has to be a set play. Maybe to get the faster Issac to chase down the kick, I don't know why, there has to be an explanation. Has left me scratching my head though.

Barrett, Toops, Snowden, Gards, Gordon and of course Gal were great in my opinion. Toops hasn't run that hard for a while, he also played aggressively which was a nice change. I feel bad for giving it to Baz earlier in the year, he has been great the last few weeks, keep it up Baz. Gal and Snowy gave normal 120% efforts. Gards, Love this guy, he sniffs around, good under the high ball, good speed and acceleration. Same goes for Gordon.

Cuthbo was good with his team on the field, till the last mistackle. Great aggression shown from the big guy. Seeing Vave on the field in the first half was good too.

I think we were in control of the game till the 48 minutes and 45 seconds point of the game. Then I knew there was no chance of a come back.

Round 12 Wrap Up: Broncos Surge To Seventh - Brisbane Broncos

Round 12 Wrap Up: Broncos Surge To Seventh

Tristan Croll
31/05/2010 10:04:32 AM

The WOW Brisbane Broncos have surged their way into seventh position on the NRL ladder after slipping past the Sharks in horrible conditions.

The wet conditions however, didn’t seem to affect the Broncos with five players making over 100 metres and a further two over 200 metres gained.

Topping the count, fullback Josh Hoffman (216 metres, 22 runs, 8 tackle breaks) put in another dominant performance from the back just in front of boom utility Matt Gillett (215 metres, 18 runs).

Corey Parker (129 metres, 19 runs) was the best of the forwards with plenty of support from Origin hopeful Ben Te’o (105 metres, 11 runs).

Centre pairing Israel Folau (106 metres, 15 runs) and Alex Glenn (108 metres, 13 runs) as well as Nick Kenny’s replacement Ashton Sims (107 metres, 12 runs) rounded out the top Broncos making over 100 metres.

Defensively, hooker Andrew McCullough (40 tackles) made the most of his return into the starting side with Parker (37 tackles) and Glenn (34 tackles) in tow.

However it was the last ditch efforts of Captain Darren Lockyer to bring down Sharks five-eighth Trent Barrett that summed up the Broncos defensive attitude the best.

In such a tight contest, Lockyer's try-saver demonstrated the Broncos mental toughness and commitment in defense.

The grinding win was another positive step for the Broncos as they enter the top eight before taking on second placed Manly.

That sucks Wilson. I hope you are ok. We shouldn't let opposition supporters in. What we should do is take their money then refuse to let them in.

Again, I thought we were very hard done by in the 10 metre department, and how D.Lockyear didnt get sin binned for holding barrett down, come on. And the one on one strip in the first half? Seems to me the refs gave us respect for one week and now back to the old ways.

Was very dissapointing to get done, especially the way the scoreboard showed us convincingly beaten. The chip kick which lead to the try on the stroke of half time was so dissapointing. That together with the two times we without question, should have thrown the ball out wide as opposed to kicking, got me absolutely firing. Not to mention sitting in that corner as well!

Aside from the negatives, the team spirit seemed to be good, with our defense outstanding for 38 minutes of the first half. If we can rid the handful of missed tackles that lead to tries from 20+ metres out, we would be plenty better off. Overall, was fairly happy with the display from the team unit as a whole.

I am still trying to figure out how they came to a drop out decision. I haven't seen any replays but from what I saw:

- Knock on by Sharks = Bronco's try?
- Knock on by Bronco's = 20m restart?

Where did he even suggest a drop out came from? Double knock on? Couldn't see that from where I was sitting if so...

Yeah that was ridiculous, but you cant expect too much from those useless ****s.

I think the video refs should be replaced with monkeys. A chimpanzee could do a better job and with the going rate being 1 Banana for every decision, it's an all round winner. :qq:

Brisbane clinch rare away victory over listless Sharks

Written by: Justin Davies
May 29, 2010 7:42pm

Brisbane get a rare post origin victory, with a 20-4 win over Cronulla. In a dour game which never reached many heights, Brisbane were the first on the scoreboard in the 29th minute after a two on one strip produced a penalty, duly slotted by Corey Parker. Israel Falou scored on the stroke of halftime to make the advantage six.

The Sharks needed to get on the board first but their constant errors and erratic ends to sets allowed Brisbane fullback Josh Hoffman to spin through the line and set up captain Darren Lockyer for their second.

Cronulla finally got on the board in the 57th minute after some nice hands led Tautai to fall over the line but Nathan Gardener shanked the conversion to keep their defiect to eight and that would be as close as the game would get.

Both teams would engage in an arm wrestle with neither team taking advantage of the degeneration of the game. A WWE style clothesline from Trent Barrett allows Corey Parker to step up and kick a second penalty to put the game beyond the Sharks reach. A length of the field job again by the Broncos backline and finished by Antonion Winterstein made the final scoreline 20-4.

Yet from what I saw of Sunday Roast, Gould alongside MG, Voss and that other little rat all were having a good laugh about the position the Sharks are currently in.

Vossy was alright but yeah TK was an idiot. It takes me alot to get angry at the media for their comments towards us as most are harsh but fair but TK's comment saying who would really care if the Sharks died and saying the NRL should get rid of them was unprofessional and a joke. I am probably going to send some hatemail the Roasts way via email addressed to TK. It wont make a difference but he said who would care, so I will tell him, I as a Rugby League fan and Sharks fan will care!
