He is def a spot player for apposing teams. Grab tackler. Not exactly Tim Smith in defence but it is his major weakness. Makes up for it with ball in hand but will cost him an origin jumper.
Maloney is a horrible defender, I'd take Carney in defence any day over Maloney.

Maloney has been criticised over his career for poor defense. I haven't taken much notice this year but surely it couldn't of improved that much from last season?

Drag Queen territory.
I remember Warrior fans constantly bitching about Maloney being a turnstile.

Todd isn't the greatest tackler, but he makes a fair effort. If he gets support from the big guys he isn't a liability.

Maloney has missed 33 tackles this year Carney has missed 21.

Maloney has attempted 214 tackles so he misses one a set in effect or 15% of his tackles.

Carney has attempted 126 tackles so he misses again one a set or 16% of his tackles.

So both are as **** as each other.

This is what I dont understand about NBN and NRL... Cronulla and the Rabbits are 2 top 8 teams in very good form and they decide to put us on the monday night and look at the Tigers, coming last and in abysmal form but get preference on FTA friday nights... PFFT

You do realise the draw and TV games were done before the season started?

IF we can manage to win, it will be one of the biggest wins in my time of following the club, it's a huge game.

I don't know why, but I have a good feeling about this game. I don't mind Souths coming off an easy, low intensity game. There's nothing they can take out of that game, Wests were that bad. Hopefully they come into our game a little over-confident.

Brisbane were always going to get their special Friday night treatment, sadly

Agree. If I wasn't a Cronulla fan there would be many other teams I'd rather watch.

Sorry but Crap fan base?? Please tell me you are being sarcastic haha, the Cronulla fans at Shark Park are some of the most enthused people I hear while watching games

Sharkboy18 I must ask, how many away games have you been to?

It's a pretty well known fact that we have a 'quiet' fan base. It has improved this year and the CSSC have a large effect, but across to the ground for a long time we haven't been a very vocal crowd.

Go for a trek out to Parra and Penruff as a decent example. Even the filthy stains supporters are a lot louder than us.

It was even alluded to many times during the Ricky Stuart era about the fact that we need to be louder and put more pressure on referees.
