Yeah gota agree with most here. Its obvious we cannot play with just the one half in our side, so during the origin period, chad towsend is a must inclusion, with wade going back into the back row, & tagatesee to meet the reserve grade coach. Lets just hope it was one of those games that happens to every club once in a while. At the start of the year I'm sure most of us would of been happy if we were told going into round 12 bye that we would have seven wins from eleven games that we would be happy. Hopefully flano works on what we need in the next week & we come back with a nice win over para.
some of your comments are arguable, but your avatar is has to be the most beautiful thing I have seen for a while

Could one of our trainers please work with Wade on his currently non existant promotion of the football!!

He was playing his natural game, doesn't have to pass that much, that's why he shouldn't be in the number 6

My thoughts on the game.

1 - Tagataese has been bad for us all year but got given a starting spot. He was playing where Graham would normally play. His defence on the edge is woeful. I think shuffling our pack crippled our defence. To think that we lost Friz and have this bloke for another year. Great decision that
2 - Graham played a great game as usual, but played the same game he usually does. He's a forward. He doesn't even have utility value. He's a GREAT edge forward too and really puts in. Alot of people forget some of the nice passes he threw in the game. Contrary to popular belief he did actually ball play alot in that first half. He was damaging with the ball in his hand.
3 - Having only one half on the field, especially it being Jeff Robson, meant that the Bulldogs could too easily shut us down. Particularly with 5th tackle kicks, hence all the charge downs. Anyone that couldn't see this coming has now learned their lesson, including Flanagan. You can't blame the chargedowns on this MB. Graham and Morris have feet as well.
4 - Other than the fumble I thought Frizell did alright. Much better than Tagataese. I was surprised Taga was allowed back on the field, I thought he'd been hooked. To think, maybe if Flanagan had actually played him he might still be with us. I think he played great.
5 - I have no idea why Gordon started on the wing and Wright at fullback. Then wouldn't you know it, they're swapped back into their better positions just before the point where Gordon would have been handy on the wing! Wright was given good ball but was as slow as a forward and couldn't do anything with it. This is the worst possible outcome I reckon. I thought Wright didn't do much wrong throughout the game to be honest. Aint his fault he is slow. Gordon again showed why he isn't half the threat Gards is. Suck it jigsaw your boy is a winger at best.
6 - Most players were just lethargic. The coach must have caught it as well because that game plan was diabolical.
7 - Carney has good ruck cover defence and we missed it. How about just cover defence MB. You don't see much cover defence in the ruck and I don't recall ever seeing Carney there because he can't tackle.
8 - By far the worst part is that the teams structure was needlessly completely changed, and because of that the team wasn't playing as the cohesive unit it normally does, particularly in defence. Agreed. Selection has always been Flanagan's biggest weakness and is why he will never be an elite coach. He came up against his first test of adversity this year and failed. Shame, he had been doing better than expected and now it seems to be he just got lucky by having Carney save his coaching career.
9 - The Bulldogs were pretty poor in the second half and the Sharks still couldn't do anything. I think we strung more than two passes together a couple of times last night.
10 - The refs weren't great but certainly weren't biased. We had a few good penalties our way in good positions but didn't do anything with them. Yep, standard crap ref's getting alot wrong. They did miss a Robson pass in that second half that was 2 metres forward.
11 - On the positive, we lost by 20 points. In 2010 that would have been a 40-50 point loss.
MB, there are no positives to come out of that game whatsoever.

There were some questionable decisions there by the referee's but let's not create excuses we were woeful.

Robson was shut down due to him being the only real half out there, every time he got the ball there was someone in his face. I actually thought he went alright with the pressure presented to him and he'll learn from that. In two weeks time I think we will see a better Robbo. If anyone else says Robson went alright I will burn the **** out of you. Worst halfback performance this decade barring Tim Smith

As much as I love Graham, he is not a half. I dunno who should fill the 5/8 role when origin comes around again but it has to be anyone but him. He is a second rower/ lock. If Townsend is out of form perhaps look towards Wright or possibly blooding young Walsh. Ridiculous. Which should get you a start on Flanagans selection panel. And when I mean panel I mean you and Flanagan.

John Morris really stepped out attack up in the second half, he relieve some pressure from Robbo and we looked more dangerous at periods, same can be said for De Gois. They were both solid. John Morris is disgraceful as is Robson. Both get lost with the ball in their hands and I havent seen two players in the one team with less playmaking ability. It really bothers me that Morris stays on the field when DeGois comes back on. Yeah, lets keep more little men out there.

I thought Gibbs and Taufua were our best go forward men, they both hit the line hard, made some good meters and Taufua made some good offloads aswell. Agree with this

I thought Fizz was ****house. Smith and Bukuya looked exhausted from the get go probably due to their performances against Melbourne. Tags was silent which was expected due to the dog shot crush of his neck. Stupid comment. I don't think he should have been selected because he is leaving but he showed last night that he is better than Taga. What more could you have asked from the bloke. He is a natural right edge runner so Flanagan plays him on the left. Fair enough I suppose because of Bakuya but the dog's shut Bakuya down and he still wasn't swapped for Frizz. Frizz ran hard and tackled hard. What more do you want?

Williams and Wright weren't good. Neither was Pom. Best was alright and Gordon solid. They were bad because they had very little help from their halves. Robson just throws the ball to the most obvious runner every ****ing time. The bloke just has no vision, footwork or creativity.

Yes we played bad but there are some positives here. Taufua looks to be getting better each week and Morris/ De Gois showed they can be more dangerous in attack. We weren't that bad in the second half. It was the first that let us down.
How the **** did Morris or DeGois show they can be more dangerous in attack? I don't remember seeing them attack anything.

Albert kelly would of been handy in this game...

IMO Wade should permanently be left in the forward pack and Morris should be our starting 6 because he's proven he can play there. Our wingers are way too slow... everytime we had an overlap on hotdog's side of the field he would just cut back in field because he knows he doesnt have the speed to beat the opposing backs and then Matt Wright on the other wing... Anyways one positive, how good was the pomslam on keating haha and then a little stomp as if to say get off me ass face

the issues we have on the wing and lack of a back up no 6 since kelly's departure are well known.... i dont understand why all these arm chair coaches are suddenly screaming out like they have something new to say...

flanno IMO had to use graham as 6 first up... and yes obviously didnt work but form here and with next weeks bye he has time to make changes (bring in another 6) and get the team back on track...

think about it if he went with another option in the 6 and it failed the only thing he could do is throw wade in there... better off using up the wade option first then going to something different next ..

i never expected us to win ever game... nor should anyone else !

And when exactly has he done this mate?

Long way back when he was playing for the tigers and eels. He wasnt exactly great at 5/8 and his kicking game did leave alot to be desired but IMO he would of offered more attacking flair then Wade at the 6 last night. Dont get me wrong, I love wade but only see him as a forward now
