LOL, yeah Stapleton played the next game against Manly (Jorge Taufua absolutely destroyed him)... then he got dropped.

Chad is just being cautious, there's no way mitch brown fits into this team.

I actually hope you're right SB but I just have this queasy feeling in my gizard that on Tuesday afternoon the 3rd of March his name will appear in the first grade side. I hope I am wrong but I think he'll be there.

And yes, the forum will go into meltdown and everyone will have forgotten who Jeff Robson is.

Meh, at the end of the day Mitch Brown is no Jeff Robson. He's certainly no 2014 Blake Ayshford either. He's a mediocre first grader at best, but he wouldn't cost us games if selected. If he's the unlikely worst-case scenario we're doing alright.

Probably a good thing he got dropped . That's the thing with Stapo he will do one good thing soon after he will go back to his brain farts and lose games for us.

Yep agree mate. And he did do well at the Dogs under a top coach and a good senior playing group. Under Ennis. Even though he wasn't a world beater Des kept selecting him when needed and apart from one poor game from last year, he would rarely let them down. Playing at the Dogs certainly improved his game and with Ennis now in our squad, I reckon Mitch would be seen as reliable, solid and safe, all Flanno traits.

I'm not willing to bet on it (don't you tempt me HB :p ), but it won't surprise me to see his name read out. Or Ayshford's.

Dang, I keep saying it but I really can't believe that we'll have both Ennis and Barba in the side this year, along with young upcoming outside backs. Sure we lost Carney, but if someone told me 2 years ago that we'd have Barba I would've slapped them silly for the sarcasm.

The team I believe Flanno will select round one. (Picked the side knowing Nu is out and assuming Lewis is also out.)

1. Gordon
2. Holmes
3. Beale
4. Feki
5. Gagan

Flanno and co have stated that Gordon will be fullback round one and recently hints that Holmes is locked in for a wing spot. After his performances last year and his form in the trial I can't see Flanno leaving Gagan out of the side (also helps Flanno's a Gagan fan.). After his form for the past two seasons I don't see Flanno dropping Feki either, wouldn't surprise me to see him named in the centres. Beale was always locked in for one of the centre spots.

6. Barba
7. Robson

Obvious reasons.

8. A Fifita
9. Ennis
10. Gallen

I reckon this years the year Flanno told Gallen to play prop or phark off. Gal also said in an interview he expects to play prop. The other two were lock ins.

11. Bukuya
12. Heighington
13. Graham

All three are damaging backrowers with good offloads. When Lewis is fit Bukuya to the bench.

14. Tupou
15. Houma
16. Arona
17. Bird

Tupou makes the squad seeing he's been consistently good for us the past two season. His shift to prop was one of the best decisions Flanno has made. Prior was going to have the 15 jersey but from the Nines and trial Houma has snatched it from him. Guys a monster. Arona was solid last year and can also cover hooker if Ennis goes down. Bird earnt a bench spot for mine with his form in the Nines. Guys got a great future ahead of him. Either Arona or Bird drops of the bench pending form once Lewis is fit.

Left out some experience and talent to pick this 17. Flanno has some tough decisions ahead of him. Great time to be a sharks fan.

Mitch Brown's ears would still be ringing from the serves he copped from James Graham during the Grand Final.

Graham looked like he wanted to run over and deck him a few times.

I wish we'd seen Feki play or even train at centre at some point. I know he can play there and left centre would be his best position IMO but I'm not sure the brainstrust see it the same way.

I'm also very confident that Prior will be in the Rd 1 team.

Agree, as you've said before it would allow us to play both Gagan and Val in the team as well. It's a no brainer to me but it doesn't seem to be the way we're thinking.

E mail that straight to flanno

Email it straight to the NRL and Match officials.

Put "Official Team List for Cronulla Sutherland Sharks- Sharks v Canberra Rd1" in the subject matter and hit SEND! (Oh and be sure to B.C.C. Flanno and Price into the email - it's the polite thing to do).

God I hope thats our side. I didnt see houma play. But I think taga and a.fifita would be ahead of prior in the prop department. Bird has to be there too. Pretty light bench though.

We have had the ****test centres for so many years and now we have ayshford beale feki gagan leutele bird to choose from. Happy with any of these. Ayshfords form in the nines was awsome.
