if they ran out of water, there were taps a plenty at the ground

me and another guy had a water fight with some 10 year olds at the tap near the ice cream truck

it maybe **** water and not cold, but it was water, and standing in the red hot sun for that long i would of drunk out of a ****ing toilet if i needed too

I think one of those 10 year olds was my boy. Geez if I had of known that was you Snowman I would of sent him in for the kill. :glasses-cool:

Also people have been critical of garners defense but there was a point when a tiger broke the line and Gardner chopped them down with relative ease, I don't think his defense is as bad as much as he positional play is bad.

Oh and we were lucky to go to golden point when benji missed the conversion attempt at the end of the game

Just watch some of the second half. That 15 minutes when TC was on fire was hard on material. All came about by controlling the ball, Ruck and game. If we play like that we will be hard to beat. Todd gives so much to our team. Was a nice move from him to put wade away just had no support

Totally agree, if we can lay a constant platform and give him good field position then we'll see alot more of those 15 minute spells hopefully for longer periods also. We just need the rest of the team doing there bit too.

Managed to read allot of this thread just now. Can't believe people calling for changes in the halves after a close game one. How could the idea even be entertained after a whole off season working on this. And I don't have a problem with Chad or Graham.

The drop ball, errors with the ball were pathetic. Completion rate of 20/36 whilst Tigers was 27/40 was probably the difference. The score flattered sharks at half time. The heat was mentioned & a slippery surface, yet it's times like these when the ball should be respected, & its not like it was going from side to side in any case. Also of note is the Cowboys completion rate of 18/39 against a team picked to come last. Fact is, won't win without it.

Sharks attack should improve if they can control the ball & the game. Never had periods of repeat sets other than both teams handing it back & forth on occasion. It appears that most are comfortble with centres for now. I'd like to get Mills & Isaac back to add more spark. Stapo later. Wright did plenty of hit-ups but there are others better IMO.

After that, the team will need a win so here's hoping for this week.

Bad outcome from round 1 but how good is it to finally have something to discuss?

Footy season is finally here!

Mate I just think graham isn't a half and carney would be best partnered with chad

It was the most glaring thing to come out of the game for me. Graham just doesn't play like a half. I don't doubt his ability, he is very talented and a must re-sign for us but he gets lost with the ball in his hands when he does anything other than run. That very poor pass to a covered Gallen in the first half showed this. If Townsend comes in at 7 it will free Carney up even more to run riot. I've got no doubt that Flano will stick with basically the same squad for this week barring injury.

Sorry I didn't mean Tagatese to the center, it just seemed like he was playing too tight yesterday and IMO he is wasted taking hit ups he should be hitting holes at speed. Best & Poms were awesome yesterday.

I agree with everything you just said. I said in the "who should partner TC' thread that it should be 6tc and 7 chad

We are talking about his positional play, high ball catching and urgency to the kicked ball when we talk about his defense not his tackling.

Was just pointing out that his tackling was good and he just needs to work on his positional play which I mentioned

yeah but you said people have been critical of his defense which made it sound like you were defending all his defense and only focusing on his tackling. Not trying to be a smart ass, hard to post without annoying people after a loss like that :D

I know and I Was just saying its not like his entire defense play as a fullback (tackling an positional play) isn't terrible. He just needs to show more urgency and desire.

There was a point where the tigers kicked it, if he tried hard he could of gotten it on the full, he didn't, but instead of going hard to pick it up, he jogs, slowly regathers and jogs to the defense line, he was talked on the 25 I think, if he shows urgency he is tackled on the 40 and we are set up to be in an awesome position to attack.

Urgency Gards!!!

For this team to reach anywhere near its potential Graham needs to be moved from the halves.
Wont happen though, not with Flanagan as coach and the backrowers we have.
