Happy New Year to all !
Quick question ?
Am flying up from Melbourne with my son for the Round 1 ( Wests Tigers ) match at Leichardt.
Thinking about it - since re-locating to Melb. in 1984, there have not been a lot of opportunities other than Vs Storm games in Melb. to watch the Sharkies go round. Last time I was at Leichardt, Garry Jack was running around for the Tiggers.
Is there a pre-game meeting point ( pub ? ) near the ground that is Shark Supporter friendly ?
What's the ticketing arrangement ? ( would prefer to be sitting / standing / having an ale or x 2 with like minded sharks ! )

Unfortunately I don't like your chances of getting Ale at the ground. You'll probably have to settle for a weak as piss tasteless lager.

Definitely be better at Shark Park in round 2

Easier to get a beer and better atmosphere amongst thousands of fellow Sharks fans.

Especially Sunday arvo @ 2.00pm

I hear 'ya regarding Round 2 at home .... but circumstances do not allow.
( A home game would HAVE to be a weekender ! )
May just have to warm up at the 3 Weeds or similar watering hole B4 kickoff.

I'll be at the sackville having some beers then doing a bit of a pub crawl down the road to Leichardt.

Hi Brad,

If wanting to have drinks with Sharks fans & enjoy the game with Sharks fans. Best option to experience it all via the CSSC Bus. Meeting point would be Sharks Leagues Club, have a few there & then get the Bus there & back. It's a thing to think about.

Hey Brad, No you don't need to be a member of the CSSC to catch the bus. You do get discounted prices as a member, But if at all memberships you should purchase first is a Sharks Membership =) then a CSSC one.

RLW Summer ed lists their Sharks top 17 as:

1. Gardner
2. Wright
3. Best
4. Mills
5. Williams
6. Carney
7. Robson
8. Gallen
9. De Gois
10. Gibbs
11. Smith
12. Tupou
13. Graham

Kelly
Green
Ross
Bukuya

Not the way I'd have lined them up at all. No Fifita (selected for emerging Blues), Morris (who can cover the halves), Townsend, Pommers (not sorry), Tagers. Think Robson will be a surprise to be in the 17 against Tigers. When Carney came, that's put a speed hump in his 1st grade career.

Comment away.

They've gone for experience and players that have recently been in other teams, so presumably have more exposure (as in, RLW staff are more likely to know who they are!).

Seems lazy rather than analytical.

Though I must say, the trends of selection here don't represent the views of everyone. It's a perfectly valid idea to just choose the team with the most experience, and that team is definitely it.

You know what you're getting with those guys I guess.

It's very different to the team I'd go with, but it's still a half decent team.

Fifita will be in the 17 without a doubt. Taufua will be ahead of Green.

Big call so far out from round 1. Don't expect to see that 17 all named in round 1.

No Pomeroy i think he wil get a start in the centres, I agree with J.Robson 7. and T.Carney 6. but don't agree with P.Gallen 8.

I would have B.Ross 8. With A.tupuo on the bench

A strong looking team.

As much as I prefer Townsend, it would be smart to start the season with Robson to take the sting out of the year before giving Chad a go.

Much like a game where you bring on a player after 15 or 20 when others are tiring & the hitting is not as ferocious.
