Neither do I.

I do, however, doubt that he would want it shouted from the rooftops.

I also do believe that any director of the Sharks should be disclosing their purchase to members, or at least ensuring that the probity of the deal is signed off by an independent party. Last thing he needs is an accusation that he's got a favourable deal that the average punter wasn't offered.

Rothfield should die in a fire.

No, not every purchase. But if they are buying a unit in the development which the Sharks have a major stake, good governance and basic ethics dictate that the deal should be transparent, to ensure they are not profiteering from their connections to the project.

It's basic Conflict of Interest management. Something Rothfield wouldn't understand, as he comes from the dark days when the boys clubs ran the world and guys like Eddie Obeid were honourable men.
