I think we might look to lock up the key players so Ramien, Ronnie and Sifa. Katoa and Kennedy we might wait on, can’t see too many teams throwing big money at them.

Clubs like the Titans, Tigers & Newcastle exist though..... desperate incompetent clubs....

Can't compete with stupidity though and nor should we.

Other than Sifa though our backs fly under the radar a bit which is great cause they are all quality consistent players but arn't on and likely never will be on silly money

As for Ronnie, he has brought a big left foot step to his game the last few weeks. used it alot tonight against the Meagles and got a line break from it last week

Has been a very good and strong consistent player for us this season. In past seasons was a bit up and down and I had him a bit behind Katoa but they they are both quality week in week out now

This bloke is only going to keep getting better. I’d be offering him a 3 year deal minimum.
Yep
Happy with a 3 year deal.
Hopefully we do get to retain that current backline but if we do lose any, we have a few that are ready/almost ready to fill the void.

Definitely,
Feel hes really matured as a first grade player this yr, plus his defence has improved immensely as he actually stays on his winger now
Agree. I was a bit hard on him up until this year but he's gone to another level I reckon, loving what he's doing

Hopefully he's a Shark for life.

Think that his partnership with Talakai has also helped him, as they we're really linking up well (prior to Wades return)

Re-signed for 2 years

Riccio has come out with it….

SHARKS MAKE ‘KEY’ MOVE IN BID TO EXTEND BACK FIVE

Elsewhere, speaking of try-scoring wingers, the Cronulla Sharks have reportedly moved to extend one of their exciting outside backs.

All five members of Cronulla’s first-choice back five — Will Kennedy, Ronaldo Mulitalo, Jesse Ramien, Siosifa Talakai and Sione Katoa — are off-contract at the end of 2023.

Mulitalo looks to have secured another two years in the Shire though.

“I believe this is a key signing for the Sharks,” Riccio said on SEN Radio.

“He’s pushed out his future at the Sharks for another two seasons until 2025. That is an important signing and starts that process for the Sharks of trying to retain all of those back five players.”
