I'm not worried about the bet, it was only $10. Only mentioned it to say I was expecting a big year from him. Unfortunately he's gone backwards.

Ah ok. I know there’s some proper head cases out there who go after these players when one of their bets dont come good.

I dont think Ronnie’s going too badly, but there’s some parts of his game that have slipped from mid season onwards.

What the **** was he thinking in the first try. There was no overlap. He was 3-4 m directly in front of Sifa, why? If he was going for the early tackle he was incredibly early, if it was intercept - there was no ball. An U/10 team can score from this. Such a shame.

He’s had a poorer second half of season but looked very strong at times. Wouldn’t surprise me to find he’s hindered by injury.
Has also been quieter in terms of his attitude which is interesting - because he’s hindered? Because he’s ‘off’? A conscious effort to manage it (so it’s a good thing?)?

Has shown talent to be an elite NRL winger though - hoping for more of the big games next season.

He and Sione are not a superstar pair of wingers but they do pretty well for us

I think he must have been playing with an injury as he just wasn't running at the line on ball returns like he was earlier , always crabbing , bloody annoying because he usually lost ground .

"I'm going to play the system and follow my centre and half in here and... oh **** I fell over and Sam Walker threw a massive forward pass. All good, the ref will call it... what? WHAT? **** ME!!!?"

edit: just saw that this old news had already been posted in another thread.

I was wondering whether the Telstra tracker recorded him when he was on his way down from one of his giant leaps

Yeah I’d be interest to see a clip of him when he measured that time. Doubt he had the ball in his hands?

Remember he got chased down by Flegler couple seasons back, and was lucky his collar ripped. Flegler no slouch for a prop but still…

You’ve got Ronnie at top speed thanks to gravity, I’ll throw a different one out there - probably reached it trying to be third man in on some push and shove!

He looks fast as on those slingshot plays. I reckon most teams have someone who would catch him over 100m though.

Maybe takes a while to get to top speed so not too hard to run down if you can get a decent start on him

Slingshots work well as he’s already in motion

I would think the fastest a winger runs in a game would be chasing after an opposition break.
