Tracey didn't do much wrong the other night. He's the Jets FB isn't he? Logical choice. Just shelve the slick backline movements (already done unfortunately) & focus more through the middle with him. Great run, **** pass.
connor has been with injuries to the jets

its a weird system, one that needs to stop when the contract is over

Yep.
I like the Jets but we need a ressies team that we have more control over and be able to pick who plays in what position to best cover our 1st’s

Not sure if this was from pregame info but saw someone saying Ronnie was training headknock

Looks to be moving freely in locker room

Should be back next week if that’s the case
NRL Physio said it was a hit to the jaw... hopefully him being missing was more head knock related, not anything worse (like a fractured jaw)

Do we think Tracey is being played at fullback by Jets contract to who Fitz would like to be played there?
I’d have thought it’d still be Tracey (given Dykes out)

I heard the Jets pick whoever they want - without any input from the Sharks.

I hope it isn't true.

Hiroti 6 was fairly desperate as Atkinson and Puru weren't available. Tracey was left at FB
Which round did Tracey play centres this season? I don't recall it. Has felt like he is fullback and if he's unavailable Hiroti is.

we flogged the roosters in a game at henson park early in the season, tracey was a late inclusion and named at fullback but spent a chunk in the centres

i dont know if he has been named, but he spent time there during games

hence, its a fkn mess

I'd say this is actually the norm for NSW Cup. It's a symptom of tying your NRL team to one feeder.

Several players in the past have commented about a big difference between Q Cup and NSW Cup is that in Qld the lineups stay a lot more consistent across the year. It's also one reason why the Q Cup doesn't allow this. They force teams to spread players out.

I'd be keen to see a comparison of the other NSW cups teams this year to see if they have any more/less disruption than Newtown. I reckon with all of the NRL injuries that the Bulldogs might be worse.

Just checked that game, he was jersey 18 although looks like he was named at FB. Hiroti was jersey 1.
A relatively niche circumstance from three months ago.

We won quite comprehensively so may have decided to get some more FB in Hiroti's legs when game was easy - Hiroti has a 15-3 tackle count for that game to 6-1 to Tracey so while I haven't looked it sounds like Hiroti was probably in the front line more, unless we won 40-18 because of numerous stops by fullback

Cup will always get dicked around by players in and out anyway. Part of one game a few months ago a guy played centres for a bit probably doesn't **** our whole NRL season... especially as that guy was named in centres for last weekend in NRL

Bulldogs and Jets NSW Cup teams. First 10 games of 2023.

The chopping and changing has nothing to do with the Jets not being under a full control of the Sharks. It's just the nature of how feeder comps work. They are at the mercy of whatever happens to the NRL team, injuries, and the schedule.

Bulldogs
1. Papalii Hetherington Oloapu Papalii
2. Okunbur Clark Wilson Hayes
3. Skelton Burns Casey Hoffman
4. Hoffman Burns Hoffman Burns Clark
5. Wilson Skelton Montgomery Skelton Hayes Skelton Mazzone

10. Tsikrikas Morrin Topine Tsikrikas
11. Topine Kautoga
12. Montgomery Wilson Montgomery Hoffman Topine Davey Hayes Edwards Topine
13. Edwards Stringer Tanner Morrin Brown

Jets
1. Tracey Hiroti Tracey Hiroti Waitere
2. Mansour Ikuvalu Mansour
3. Gagan Iro Stonestreet
4. Iro Stonestreet Hiroti Taumoepeau
5. Stonestreet Rodwell Stonestreet Rodwell
6. Atkinson
7. Puru Trindall Puru Trindall Puru

Tracey sucks man. He can’t pass, he’s never in position hence the Martin try, his attack is nothing but sideways cramping everyone outside him, oh but he runs hard so that’s fine. He also didn’t let a ball go dead, then instead of taking the tackle throws a hospital pass to Katoas shoulder with a crooked finger who dropped it and saved a try luckily. And don’t forget his amazing grubber he did when we were attacking the line with a full back line the other side

he stopped a try the play before and was stuck at marker, talakai was the one jogging that could have cleaned it up, jessie almost got there and he was a long way outside talakai

On Ronnie injury, being reported as ‘jaw injury’

So I guess one of the following
  • Fracture
  • HIA we aren’t reporting as such*
  • Laceration they wanted to let heal up a bit
  • Swelling or bruising to a concerning extent, especially around prior broke jaw
Only really one of those keeps him out this week but see if he’s named tomorrow I guess

*asking for trouble in long term doing stuff like this

Our injury info sucks
For sure. They only tell you when someone is hurt long term, and they ignore the existence of anyone outside the top 20 players or so. We didn't even get an update on Colquhoun at the start of the year, and he's probably player 21 or 22.

Not like it is an advantage to club to just be (relatively) up front about the issue 99% of the time

Pilot pay us to put their name on med reports anyway

Be nice to even get info about Ball/Flegg/Matt’s players but I’d settle for consistent info about top 30 and dev
