Win a premiership then we all become a bunch of hard to please dicks?....

The dragons aimed up on us and we weren't 100% there. Plain and simple. Yet still just like the broncos game we were 1 try away from victory.

For me id like us to give Brailly licence to kick in behind in attack. This game and the dragons defence was crying out for one of our boys to kick in behind there rushing defence on many occasions.

Bird was average at fullback, but for all of Holmes running he too was one dimensional at fullback and lagging in support. Rusty performance from players in new positions.

Also not a fan of Capewell on the wing or at centre, lovely player in the back row but as soon as Beale or Feki returns hes got to drop to the bench.

Ricky was as involved as I have ever seen him and his runs were good - it was his options and passing/non passing (essentially decision making) that let him down big time. Cost us a try with a bad offload and potentially cost us some try's in attack.
It's good to play with confidence and back yourself but you can't ignore things around you if there is a better play or option available - whether it is ability or selfishness I don't know

The Edrick Lee bagging is completely unfounded, for those paying attention he has been improving every week and had his best game for us thus far. Scored a try, saved a try with a 3 on 1 and was unlucky not to have a try assist with a forward pass calling. His runs were not garbage either. I think some fans just get tunnel vision on a player once they are signed and have already locked in their predetermined opinions. I would continue to have him over a fit Beale/Feki

Reflecting on the game... yes we were terrible but it was reminiscent of our performance against manly in round 3 last year. We are in the exact same position as last year (even the exact same +\-) so it's not all doom and gloom. In saying that how we respond this weekend will be the real test. A week is a long time in footy and I hope this was the kick up the arse they needed. They have two options, keep playing average footy and get by, maybe finishing bottom of the 8, or be the defending premiers and be the team to beat and play like it - I guess the next couple of weeks will show us which one they want to be. Flanno was irate in the presser you could tell, he will have them in a good place against the eels. Not all is lost I just hope we make the personale changes that are needed (I.e Val to full back, Beale and Feki to the starting side, Lee to reserves if there's no spot, Kurt to the bench) etc.

Fins up.

are people bagging lee after last night? **** me dead
Not a first grader and bit of a cat apparently

Edrick Lee is a bloody cat. 100kg cant even make 5 metres a hit up. Val needs to be fullback, Bird cannot catch a high ball.

I feel Prior needs to play more. We look much better when he is on the field. Best tonight by far were Leutele and Bukuya. Everyone else was real average.

Edrick Lee is not a first grader, Brailey needs a rest, A.Fifita continues to think he is bigger than the team, J.Bird is not out fullback - stop sucking up his ass and put him back in the centres, Leutele is a hog, Chad needs to bring more to the game. Gal is struggling.

Everyone who is saying "Don't panic, we are exactly the same as we were at this point last year, " need to remember we went on a 15 game winning streak, you can't bank on that happening again.

Now I'm not panicking either but there's a long way to go for us to get anywhere near what we were last year.

My observations from last night:

(1) We turned up expecting to win. We didn't give the Dragons an ounce of respect.
(2) Our discipline was way off. Too many penalties and too many brain explosions. Ridiculous by Fifita to do what he did and while Ricky defended and ran strongly, he needs to hold the ball better.
(3) We need to settle on a fullback. Switching around during the game does nothing for us. It only makes it harder to get combos right. For me, it is Val, Bird is not a fullback.
(4) James Maloney had a shocker. Fell off too many tackles, his passing was not crisp and his kicking was atrocious. Lost count how many times he kicked it dead or kicked it too deep for them to catch it in goal.
(5) Our best player by a mile came from the bench. Boogs. He continually brushed off tackles and defended strongly.

With this form we'll lose to Parra AND the Knights.

Put me on suicide watch if we lose to the knights Chadley. I'm going to that game and if we don't aim up and win look for me heading to the roof of the club!!

In your head, rent free
the game last night was there for the taking but we didnt have that something extra to take it

every time we got a bit of momentum, we ****ed it up: lewis hitting the bloke for a 20 re-start, capewell pushing someone in the back, ricky dragging someone over the sideline, fifita being fifita ect

brailey is going to be something special but he has no spark out of dummy half at the moment. couple of times when we had them on the back foot he could have made a darting run to try and draw a penalty but didnt do it

all in all, we will win more than we lose, but going 0/2 at home hurts

This is the thing. People have stated we are in same position as last year. Difference being we lost at Townsville and Brookvale not two home games

I must be blind in thinking Edrick Lee had close to a fantastic game? His runs are strong and we saw when he gets in the clear he has the pace and makes the right decisions (still think that pass went back and floated forward). He made 185m and saved a try. What more do you want from a winger?

Ricky's error that lead to the dragons try was poor, but how about the non-existent defense that allowed Aitken to essentially stroll to the try line.

That was an unbelievably good pass, grea actually. Was back out of the hands, should have been a try.
