Is Paul Gallen fit to captain the Cronulla Sharks?
Is it just the board who should go or should the captain be also stood down for racial abuse.
Executive Sports Editor Phil Rothfield may be a strong Sharks supporter, but he has some strong views on this issue and will unload today at 1pm.

It could have very well been "get off me you fat c*nt"?
The more and more that Phil 'buz' Rothfield writes about cronulla the less i think he is a sharks supporter.
I hate the ****ing ****, he's a piece of ****. He looks like his face was melted off in a fire, we could only hope the fire would finish the rest of him off.
still, people shouldnt be prejudice, it sh*ts me.
Gal is actually a really good natured guy off the field, his sister nikki was telling me how much he loves kids, and how he treats all the fans really well when they stop him for a chat, even when he`s having a really bad day, Go Gals!
Hi Phil,
Paul Gallen has had too many chances and he keeps doing the same mistakes. There is no excuse for saying racist comments and he should be sacked from the captaincy and given a 4 week ban from the N.R.L as well. The Sharks should make Trent Barrett captain with Luke Douglas his deputy. Both have a good image with the public and always give 100% to their team and fans.

I agree Gallen should be sacked as captain. This is an opportunity for the Cronulla board to show this sort of behaviour will no longer be tolerated. Gallen is a great rugby league player but a shocking choice as captain. A captain needs to have media skills, be able to mix with sponsors, and set the right example in the community. My esteemed colleague Dean Ritchie rang Gallen yesterday to talk about the story. Gallen said “Why don’t you go jump off a bridge” then hung-up on him. I don’t think he even understands that he’s done the wrong thing.

Is Rothfield serious when he suggests Gal (or anyone from the Sharks) be courteous when dealing with the media? After what these parasites have done to our club in the past few weeks in the name of selling a few newspapers, they are lucky they don't get a punch in the chops! Especially Jacqueline (never let the truth get in the way of a good story) Magnay.
The media are scum in general and the Telegraph is the scum that other scum rejects!
Fact of the matter is we can't have our captain giving the media any more reason to slam us. Not every journalist hates us and there are only a select few tearing us apart for no reason (the others have had good reasons as many of the scandals are our fault). Gallen cannot be captain if he is going to be really rude to the media and he cannot make racist comments. This image of this club needs to be changed. I want Gallen as captain so he needs to not do this crap.
