Is it just the board who should go or should the captain be also stood down for racial abuse.

I can back that up, he stopped and talked to me at Suncorp Stadium after they got smashed ( and Dyksey too) He was really nice signed a few Autographs took a photo with my lil brother then asked if there was anything more he could do, Before heading off.

Hi Phil,

Paul Gallen has had too many chances and he keeps doing the same mistakes. There is no excuse for saying racist comments and he should be sacked from the captaincy and given a 4 week ban from the N.R.L as well. The Sharks should make Trent Barrett captain with Luke Douglas his deputy. Both have a good image with the public and always give 100% to their team and fans.

I agree Gallen should be sacked as captain. This is an opportunity for the Cronulla board to show this sort of behaviour will no longer be tolerated. Gallen is a great rugby league player but a shocking choice as captain. A captain needs to have media skills, be able to mix with sponsors, and set the right example in the community. My esteemed colleague Dean Ritchie rang Gallen yesterday to talk about the story. Gallen said “Why don’t you go jump off a bridge” then hung-up on him. I don’t think he even understands that he’s done the wrong thing.

I dont need Gallen to be a saint but as one of the main faces of our club he is one who the fans, media and potential sponsors look to. He needs to not add more pressure to our already troubled club.
