Panthers: Last nights game

Moving away from our off field dramas what did you guys think of our efforts last night. Personally I was frustrated but happy we were competitive. What of the new guys. Opinions. I'll start

T. Caine: Great game Welcome to first grade Good defence and great attack

B. Ferguson: WOW!! Sure he made mistakes but he is only 20. His meters gained and speed are what we need. Now needs some experience

J. Selmes: Maybe I'm wrong but I'm not a fan. He has poor sideways defence and is a bit cumbersome for mind

B. Goodwin: Effort was great but still not a first grade player to me when compared to other fullbacks in the comp. Not a great finsiher like his brother but may come good from his efforts.

A. Vea: Didn't see much time but shows potential and good workrate

J. Mannah: The more I see this huge lad the more I believe he is going to be a great Prop. On comparison to Selmes who has been getting groomed for so long Mannah certainly has the wood over him. Should keep at least a bench spot to gain experience.

B. Green: I thought he had a good game. His kicking game is great and he ran the ball well. Unfortunately he lacks speed and support play is only average. Tried his guts out

You're losing it old mate. Sacking the coach isn't the answer. Are you suggesting Williams was no good in the centres last night? He had a blinder out there. Its no secret our 4 backrowers are the standouts in our team, unfortunately there is only 3 spots in the backrow though. They're all 80 minute players too so bringing one off the bench is a waste in my opinion.

You're going ape**** about a line up that I reckon looked the best we've seen in 2009. We at least looked like scoring points - a couple of those opportunities get converted into points and we win that game.

I know this might be a touch off topic but when i pulled yesterday in the carpark right next to us was corey houghes and with him was Brett Seymour and Misis Taluapapa. Corey looked like he was tearing up, Seymour had this dissapointed look on his face and Misi Looked dejected probabley cause he can't get a start (which i think he should) Then we went to the lights and i saw a bus Full of cssc supporters and i thought the bus was going to break they were ballistic and it put a smile on the sharks players faces. Then when i went through the gate i saw Grant Millington and David Simmons. Simmons looked normal but Millo Looked like he wanted to play and i fill very sorry for him because he deserves a shot. And then i got my seat on the hill and my mates bagged me all game about where the sharks are coming on the ladder and the fact that we have now lossed 8 in a row. Oh well i say bring on the dragqueens nexy satday night i will be there!!!!!!!!!!!

I've heard of the players having some strange pre-game rituals, but this one from a fan takes the cake!

I was frustrated with gallen but ya get that I must say that was one hell of a pass for the Panthers first try . otherwise I liked the look of the team the effort was good across the park some things didn't come off but keep them together with one or two changes and I will be happy.

Maybe more experience as well not sure needs a couple more weeks for me.

Agree but I dont see any other choices he isnt reading the game well yet but we all no this takes time.

Good question where could we fit him in.

I was happy with what I saw the best part about it is that we didn't have to change up players because of an injury the young guys need time in the positions they are placed otherwise they have no chance of owning their opposite number.

I would be happy to see no changes next week if seymour isn't ready but then again Green also needs time as well for us to see his full potential we aren't a top eight team and as I said at the start of the year we need time to gell young players coming in the team mean that it may take a little longer but I would be happy going into next season with the guys from last night gelled up ready to go.

I singled out goodwin for kicking on 4th because when he did so we were only 10 meters from the try line, if he had of taken the hitup, give our attack time to get in position, the ball would of been givin to baz on 5th and he could have put in a much more stable high kick to cov or fergo, goodwins kick was rushed, unbalanced and unnecessary.

Poor finishing in the end cost us, also not taking our oppurtunities when we had them while every oppurtunity penrith had they took. A much improved performance by the boys but wasn't enough.

didnt get to go to the game missed it due to playing footy which we got smashed haha 54-13 HAAHA yes 13! down 24-6 we thought wed go for a field goal haha

dw last year our first grade team beat another team 110 -1, at one point the score was 10-1

ironically on the weekend we played that team again
first grade won 114-4 (after being 80 nil up at the break!)
and we won 92-0 (40 nil at the break)
