Get rid of all of them Pierce included as he is the one that got rid of Anderson. This club is a joke.

if gallen goes i will dead set turn it up

i just cant beleive how we are crumbling at the moment, i know when in poor form little things stand out more but this was a joke i thought i first herd about gallen wanting to leave

bring back the better years (1996-2002) i cant justify why we have slipped so much since those years

Because the club gets rid of good players all the time, and coaches that have an idea. Eg John Lang and Chris Anderson. Does anyone see the Broncos getting rid of Bennett? Or Canterbury getting rid of Folkes?

CRONULLA ARE A F JOKE!!!!!!!

raper has made terriable decisions but aslong as he is at the club we just have to stick by him. i have got nothing against him, he did alright earlier on. if you all hate him go support another team because raper is our coach and he is trying really hard to hang in this season. yu all just hate him because we havelost 8 games, if you hate raper then why didn't you complain when we were winning 8/9 games. you are all such hypocrites. support or leave!!!

If Gallen goes it will be a joke.

We buy wasted players and loose in-form young/strong players.

I did complain his game plan was still basic we only one those games due to teams not at there full roster and origin was in force. When you employ a coach you expect first year to be a learning experience for both players and coach but then you are ment to improve they have shown no improvement whatsoever infact they are worse. At the end of this season we may end up second last. His had his chances they are now a laughing stock,If you just stick by him he will never leave and we will never improve.ITs time sharks195 to stop being a nancy boy and face the truth he is the worst coach in the comp and we deserve better

i'm only saying this because he is our coach. i don't like his gameplay but while he is coach we have to at least give him some sort of chance

I agree it would be terrible if Gallen were to leave as he has been our best all year. All the same I believe Stu has the best interests of the club at heart and is doing his best to get results on the field week in week out, you can see the frustration on his face every week after another close loss. Give him a break, he is not the one putting down passes and falling off tackles. Alright so it hasn't been a great season but at least some pretty talented youngsters are starting to make their mark eg Douglas, Simmons and Reece Williams, so providing we can retain those guys, big things are not far off.

Raper is not the messiah unfortnately.... He will not bring us a premiership. The players obviously have no repspect for him otherwise they would have gone on with it last Saturday night. I played the game for 25 years.... and knew that my coach would kill us if we gave up in a game like the sharks did last week....You would bleed for a coach you respect... I cant remember the last time a Shark bled!

Mad minute with Paul Gallen

Daily Telegraph, 25 August 2006, 589 words

DEAN RITCHIE talks to lock Paul Gallen about Cronulla's shock exit from the NRL premiership

( Q ) Are you embarrassed by the club's capitulation?

( A ) Very. Had you said at the start of the year we would only need to win three or four of the 10 games to make the semis and we didn't, I would have laughed. It is embarrassing.

( Q ) What do you say to the fans?

( A ) I don't know. We owe them a bit of an apology. They turn up every week and our crowds have been pretty good this year. We have been losing at home this year and also away. I just ask them to stick with us for next year and hopefully things will get better.

( Q ) What's gone wrong?

( A ) I don't know. People are pretty much asking every day. I can't put my finger on one thing. It's definitely not through a lack of effort. Everyone is putting in each week. We have been in the majority of the games we have lost. We have also been leading most of them at halftime. I just can't put my finger on what's gone wrong at the back end of the second half.

( Q ) Do you think anyone at the club will be sacked over this?

( A ) I hope not. If you are talking about Stuart (Raper, coach), I don't think so. Stuart works his butt off every week to give us input on the other team. He isn't the one missing tackles and giving silly penalties away. Unfortunately we just aren't coming up with the result at the end of the day. I'm not sure if anyone will get sacked.

( Q ) Do you think there is more pressure on Cronulla given they have not won a premiership?

( A ) Some fans are fed up with this happening over the years. I'm sure they're upset we haven't won a competition. I'm upset too over the past five years not playing finals football. That's what you chase so hard.

( Q ) The club is doing an independent review of the whole organisation. Your thoughts?

( A ) I don't know too much about it. I suppose something has to change. In the past few years we have shown so much promise mid-season and then fallen away. I suppose the board and (CEO) Greg Pierce have to look at changing something. Bringing in someone from outside might help.

( Q ) The season earlier on had so much promise.

( A ) It did up until rounds 14 and 15. At that stage we were in the top four and at that stage we were talking about finishing in the top four. The past few weeks have gone so quick to be honest. It is embarrassing and we are going through a tough time.

( Q ) You play the Dragons this weekend and they found some form last week against the Wests Tigers.

( A ) They did. But I thought the Wests Tigers were pretty poor to be honest. Mark Gasnier was unbelievable though. It will certainly be a big ask for us to go down to Wollongong. They've got a lot to play for. They can finish top four. But we have pride to play for and it's a local derby. Hopefully form will go out the window and we can rip in and get the result.

I don't agree - "A bit of an apology" refers to the players. The club on the other hand owes us a whopping apology.

Personally I think there is a lot of heart in the team (albeit this doesn't translate to all players) however the team really does lack direction.

Go Gallen and Kearney! Show 'em how it's done.

So Paul Gallen hates the coach? You only have to read the interview, to know what a bunch of crap that rumour doing the rounds is. Isn't it funny that whenever the club is going through a bad run of results, some so-called supporters start spreading those kinds of rumours to destabilise the joint?

Gallen Want's Out

Gallen desperate to quit Sharks
By Dean Ritchie
September 14, 2006

NEW South Wales back rower Paul Gallen has rocked the Sharks by asking for a release, and the club suspects a rival NRL club has attempted to poach him.

Signed until the end of 2007, Sharks chief executive Greg Pierce last night torpedoed the move, saying: "There's no way he's going anywhere."

Gallen fronted Pierce and under-pressure coach Stuart Raper last Friday to request the right to move on.

The development comes with the Sharks in the middle of conducting an internal review after crashing out of finals contention amid the worst losing streak in the club's 40-year history.

"I just feel like it might be time for a change. It's not that I don't like the place or the coaching staff or anything like that. I just want to play semi-final football," Gallen said.

"You only get a short playing career and I'm looking for a fresh start and a fresh challenge. I told Stuart (Raper) and Greg (Pierce) direct.

"They both said it would be crazy for them to let me go, so I don't like my chances."

The Sharks will finish conducting their review tomorrow. The club is understood to be close to coming to terms with sacked Sydney Roosters coach Ricky Stuart to replace Raper next season.

Pierce suspects Gallen may have been approached with a big-money offer to join a rival club.

"Asking for a release and getting a release are two different things altogether," Pierce said.

"I dare say he's been made an offer by another club, which disappoints me.

"He probably thinks he can earn more money and he probably wishes he was in the semi-finals, but so do we all."

But Gallen's agent David Riolo denied the Origin star had been approached by another NRL club.

Gallen collected the Sharks supporters' player of the year award at Cronulla's 2006 presentation night last Tuesday.

Where has the pride gone in the place? for gallen to want out (following in the footsteps of nutley, sullivan, vagana, hilder etc) there's something chronically wrong. not one of these players had faith in the coach, and i think that tells the story. if the sharks dont make sweeping changes soon they'll be playing to empty houses. we're already favourites for the wooden spoon in 2007, and that's disgraceful. i cannot think of one other team in a worse state, and that's before 2006 has even wrapped up.

Even souths are finally starting to attract quality players, and we cannot even hang on to the blokes we've got.

surely that just reflects what the players think about the management and the coaching staff at the sharks. gallen for one has no faith in their ability to get us into the finals.
