Pumped for this, absolutely love the Olympics.

Very keen to see if Jess Hull can win gold, we don't win many in track.

Paris: While most teenagers are back at school, Chloe Covell picked up her board and skated along the most famous avenue in Paris, Les Champs-Elysees, on Monday.

The diminutive Australian, with her long, blonde locks, was dwarfed by the city’s iconic apartments as she coasted along the footpath, past cafes set with wicker chairs, and Metro stations.

Chloe on the skateboard vs Luke Covell full steam ahead flying down the wing, who wins the race?

I'll refrain from posting after saying that I have nothing but contempt for the modern Olympics as a money-making, taxpayer money-wasting scam filled to the brim with the most toxic jingoism.
That being out of the way, good luck to all the athletes involved, for many the Olympics (nowadays probably very far from Coubertin's original vision and ideals) is the dream of a lifetime. I have nothing but respect for them.

And I hope you guys enjoy the next few weeks.

Go Chloe, go!!

Some hockey player Angus Crichton’d the end of his finger to go to his second Olympics

Doesn’t even sound like he had a bad issue just chopping the bone off allowed faster healing than the fracture so he was able to stay on the team.

Good commitment

All sports are very different these days to how they started out tbf.

I don't like the corruption at IOC level (same story with FIFA) but purely as a spectacle it's bloody awesome.

Really looking forward to the games. The Tokyo games were absolutely fantastic and an essential distraction to everything that was happening at the time. It helps that Japan are probably second to none on organising events like this.

One event I'm looking forward to is a sport which I'm still shocked isn’t a bigger deal in Australia. Field Hockey. It ticks all the boxes for what we’d want in a sport for mine.

Have a go at the mock up for the stadium at the Brisbane Olympics. Might as well have it in Dubbo

Pretty crazy with the rugby 7s that the Aussies are already through to the semi finals, and New Zealand eliminated. All run through so quickly.

Yeah always understood why the football needed pre Opening Ceremony time - to fit in a mini World Cup into 2 weeks.

But what is the need to play the Rugby now? Considering they got to the semis in 2 days.
