wont be too much different because just as gallen was charging thurston all night, hoffman was charging khunt all night (even though he got belted most of the time) and khunt did nothing other than tackle to who game

I think Prince will give them creative ability which they didn't get fom Thurston who is not playing well this year for whatever reason I dont know

Thurston was pretty anonymous on attack on Wednesday night but NSW did a great defensive job on him, they gave him little time or space in which to weave his magic. Also let's not forget his forwards were pretty woeful, only Petero really put his hand up in my opinion.

Prince and Thurston are both great players without a doubt, but not too sure how they would work together in the halves - that is the big unknown factor for Mal if he goes with both for the second game.

I don't see it working either Mega, and I am not sure QLD selectors would have the balls to admit they are wrong and pick him either, I suppose we will see. I thought a lot of our attack was Sharks like to be honest, the plays and everything except they all got pulled off. I suppose it is not surprising considering Flanagan was Bellamy assistant.

I knew if we dominated the forwards they would be limited, but in saying that I also thought if we didn't and QLD got too much ball in good territory that backline would punish us.

I am glad we played as well as we did, and I do agree when Gallen was on we were more aggressive, and I also thought Hornby even though he got limited time, is a useless selection to be honest. But that is just me. If Gidley is fit, I can see him going.

I think QLD need to re-evaluate their forwards to stand a chance, and their bench was rubbish.

I thought the whole game plan was very sharks like, and very interestingly Gus Gould praised the NSW game plan as being clever to shut down the clearly more talented queensland backs by being up and in the faces of the whole queensland side therefore limiting their oppertunities with the ball.........
YOU MIGHT EVEN SAY WE "CHOKED THE LIFE OUT OF THEM"!!!!
A term that Gus has used to describe the Sharks and has labelled us boring and unatractive to watch. He even said " I hate watching Sharks games because they choke the life out of other sides"!
Good one hypocrite.

i think your right there gw about gidley getting the nod if he's fit.i'd leave him on the bench rather than changing him for wallace though.
i am a bit of a hornby fan.i think he has great utility value and he's tough enough for origin as well.probably the case of having someone who wont f**k up when the pressure is on over someone with flair and attack.he's one of the few consistantly good goons players.

Do we really need a utility player on the bench? Buderus usually plays 80mins, Hoffman can play centre if one of them gets injured, would it not be worth having another forward on the bench? I guess the only issue is if Wallace gets hurt.

hornby can happily cover half, 5/8, hooker, and fullback and im sure hed go fine on the wing
its not like we even need another forward anyway
but you do need that utility insurance
i wouldnt be wanting to have hoffman as blues center, would you?

Just talking hypothetical if one of the centres was injured during the game, but I guess Hayne would slip into centre and Hornby onto the wing. Guess that is a 'yes' to my question of requiring a utility player.
