Staggs had an average game, but it's the first game back and with these new rules. Jennings has made many a centre look stupid - he'll be right.

He also made a great run down the sideline
I definitely haven't changed my whole opinion on Staggs off that one game

Same here. ET was a poor defender when he first came into grade but ended up being one of the best defensive centres in the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if we keep atleast one of those players. Maybe SJ most likely?

**** me I hope not, I would move Shaun on next week if I could

Xavier Coates

No luck with players with 'X' in their name mate haha

big fan of his. has carried that Eels team many a week. would have loved a worker like him here

How much do we think it would take to get Staggs? Would we give him what Duges is on?
We would be insane to ever pay another centre what Duges was on, the game has changed.

Yea maybe you make an exception for a generational talent like a Xerri if you think they could be another E.T but otherwise the money is better spent in other positions
500-600$k for a typical gun centre yea sure, not $800K +

I reckon 600k and you’ll get him, doesn’t have Duges skin in the game, yet ; and only plays centre..
Fills in at second row does he not as well? that helps his value a bit

Not like Xerri was a good defender.
he was improving

Don't you think it's time we dropped this kind of talk about Xerri? Was always premature but now it's kind of obvious that his talent wasn't all natural

anyone watch the semi last year? if teams target him, he genuinely crumbles

Was hoping he would be better but he isnt - also, he sees his future in the halves

He's 21 and massively gifted - I'd rather have him than Ramien right now (and Staggs is probably on quite a bit less still). He might not work out but he's shown enough I'd say he's worth a gamble.
I know he is interested in playing in the halves and I'd be happy to give him an opportunity pre-season to do some training there and maybe even some time in a trial but if his personality and desires were Latrell Mitchell instead of Cory Oates I probably wouldn't want him
(ie Oates wants to play second row, has continued to happily perform on the wing because his main priority is the team and being in it, Latrell on the other hand ditched his team for a position he wanted that pretty much everyone knew he was going to struggle at - yes I know there are a lot of different circumstances between the two)

I liked the look of Bradman Best for the knights on the weekend. Seems to be a real competitor.

People been raving about him for a while. Bet they were devastated when we they had to get rid of non-performing Jesse Ramien
