Jigsaw how is the Covell-cloning going? Imagine if NSW had Covell's from number 1 to 17, how many points would they put on the Cane Toads then! :D

Woh woh woh woh. Hold on there Mega everyone knows A team like that is nothing with out Lance in the team. With him it would easy be the first game to tip 100 points. The pace of the team would just run rings around the Maroons

I don't think noddy & dykes deserve to be there. Maybe Cronk & Anasta would be my selection.

I reckon a Dykes/Anasta partnership wouldn't go astray:cool: Gower is stable but nothing more, Orford hasn't proved himself in pressure situations and Lyon is a waste at 5/8 & is merely a safe option. I think Todd Carney, Monaghan or Kurt Gidley in the halves wouldn't be bad options either. I reckon Dykes is one of the most creative, attacking & skillful players in the NRL and just doesn't seem to get the rub of the green with injuries, form, selection etc. It's a shame that he will never likely represent NSW or Australia.

Cooper Cronk is a Queenslander;)

halfs hummm...

well if anasta can produce some more footy like last week against the dragons, he would have to go close...lol maybe if they get some young dragon cock heads like richie williams to fire him up that is. but lyon is still a reasonable fall back option
as for halfback if matty orford keeps producing wins with manly i think he will have earned a shot. as long as they dont just fall back on gower again ill be happy, i mean on a state of origin level him and kimmorely have had roughly the same impact but noddy gets a bad name because of one fuken pass!! people dont seem to remember how short QLD were on that side and if that pass made it, the blues would have scored and won the game. so yeh he is playing a different style game now...finally more effective with dykes and form says the blues no 7 could be his.

Cheers guys:)

I think orford is certain the halfback spot, he would of played enough games by the time origin comes around. As for 5/8, think it will go to Anast, maybe they will decide that position with the city vs country game. Does anyone rate Brett Finch a chance? i dont ,just asking, think Dykes is way in front of him.

Hardstyle, you would have to agree that the cupboard is pretty bare at the moment for NSW in the halves department. I don't mind Anasta so much, but my pick would be Kurt Gidley for the no.6 jumper.

........One name that does stand out for me is Kurt Gidley, surely he has to be in there somewhere, be it halfback, five-eighth or even fullback. He is a sensational player, and our guys will have to watch him closely on Monday night as he is a potential gamebreaker.

Agreed.

Gidley had a cracker against Brisbane last week (Did he get Man of the Match in a losing side?), and it will be a good test for his Origin chances coming up against an in form Sharks defence. I don't care who plays in either Origin side, but if the Sharks don't shut him down on Monday, we'll probably lose, and Gidley will have one foot in the Origin door.

Personally, I reckon they will go with Noddy and Lyon.

They will NEVER pick Dykes, his defense is nowhere near SOO level.

i don't think that lyons is a 5/8's a**hole in my opinion. i am so sick of guys playing one position for their club side, then scoring a rep spot in a different position. if i was a fringe nsw rep possibility as a 5/8 for example, and instead of picking a usual 5/8, they picked a noted centre such as lyon or gasnier, i would be spewing. i do agree that kurt gidley would be a fine choice for nsw on his form so far this year, but he is playing fullback, so should be selected as fullback. i can't give you a 5/8 who is playing well for nsw at the moment, so anasta would probably get the job in my side, with noddy as half, but i have a feeling that ben hornby may get the halfback spot, and if he does, it is a crock of s#*t.

I personally reckon Kimmorely at 7 and either Kurt Gidley or Gower at 6, it might be worth having 6 Gidley, 7 Kimorrely, 17 Gower and then Gower can come on at hooker or 5/8th

Hey jimmy, I wasn't saying I agree with Lyon playing there either, that is just the way I think they will go.

I would love to see Kurt gidley get a go though.

No your right, I didn't think you were having a go just explained myself better was all, I agree, but I think it comes down to the NRL are in a shortage of good play makers of that standard. There is a lot of truth to chris anderson saying we are a game of atheletes now. Not 100% truth but he has an arguement if you think about it.

Yes 195 that sounds crazy alright, the selectors need their heads read if they are even considering Gower for a place in the side, Thurston would run rings around him.
