May as well start him if that's the case, the first two minutes won't make much difference.

I also like Rudolf coming on at that stage (between then 20 & 30), but I don't like starting Fifita and Williams, and also BHU lost some of his sting starting too.

There's enough decent players in our forwards but it is hard to know what the right mix & timings are.

Just hope they all go up and shake Marty's hand before the game starts
Also a couple of high 5's wouldn't hurt , just to test his thumb and welcome him back

maybe they are using fifita to take the first onslaught; I know he hasn't looked match fit but he may have a particular job to do and then get him off;

I think people get too bent up on who's starting and who's not. They will all end up doing similar minutes and the club knows better on who should be on at what parts of the game and with what other forward partner.

From Sharks training photos today.

Was Jeff Robson there teaching them the show and go?

In your head, rent free
i dont like having the bench we do, uele starting didnt give him enough minutes and we missed his impact, although fifita made a great impact off the bench

hunt was ok in his spell, didnt do anythign wrong but i cant help but feel we need a genuine utility on the bench, not a makeshift one

I'd happily talk myself into some hope before any final against any team, so probably.
But why not? Starts with self belief, right? Ends with slagging off Chad, but starts with belief...
I hope their self belief, results in my disbelief. Time for the noise around this team, to translate into action. 10 Senior leaders need to reveal themselves in unison.

And only then will the circle be complete

They beat us twice without turbo last year. Doesn't seem to matter, we don't play well against this mob. We beat them in 08, 12 and 16 so maybe us beating Manly is like Feb 29th or the olympics or something.
dont forget those inspirational trial game wins we mustered last few years

I think people get too bent up on who's starting and who's not. They will all end up doing similar minutes and the club knows better on who should be on at what parts of the game and with what other forward partner.

the coach is still working it out though, bench management and starting 13 has been a weakness of his but at least he can acknowledge it and work on it. not easy with so many fresh and different faces week to week either

Probably getting measured up by the tailor for his Sharks Immortals Jacket

Get this legend on the field , he ain't scared of Manly

afterall he is the most manliest man that ever manned

Yep. I was dealing with him at the Tigers for labourers and apprentices. Came into our office earlier in the year to have a chat.
Looks like we've poached him back.

Some interesting feelings on the Silvertail Forum in their game day thread - I've taken a few quotes for you all from some posters.

Lots of vitriol towards us as you'd expect and mostly they still believe they can win on Sunday. And they're probably right!

The sharks side is manufactured garbage with no soul or identity. Full of overrated has beens who are past their best.

That sharks team is a joke. If graham and Nikita weren’t in that side they wouldn’t win a game. And as it stands they can barely win a game with them in the team. If their 1-5 is far more talented than ours perhaps they’d win more games.

Well, for this game I’d say that I’m concerned, about our injury toll, but not alarmed; as our replacement players gave a good account of themselves on Sunday when they had to step up.
Plus, we own the gummies and have done for years.

Unless Johnson Townsend and Moylan have drastic changes of form we should be able to hold the Sharks to single digits.

The player that has impressed me at Cronulla is Hamlin-Uele. He is a tank and gives the team a momentum boost when he comes on as a replacement. We will need Tent to do the same thing for us, and nullify Hamlin-Uele.
Agreed, Uele is way more dangerous than A Fifita these days. Fifita is a shadow of his former self.

Seriously looking at those players head to head. Are any of those matchups worrying? In fact we are nearly better head to head in every position. We have allowed 1 try in our last 120mins of footy. I honestly don’t know how or where Cronulla will beat us. We just need to get in there complete every set and grind them down. Manly 24 Cronulla 8
Taufua 2, Sironen, Levi tries, Garrick 4/4.

If we contain Moylan we will win comfortably. Manly 44 Cronulla 2

Sorry where on paper are they easily more talented??? Who are the two origin players? Dugan and Moylan??? Please, they are nowhere near origin level and would argue they never performed when in that arena. Plus as said before, these games are not won by positions 1-5. Our pack is arguably the best in the comp or at least one of them. If we get in top our 1-5 have the skill set to easily open those sharks outside backs up. I think your concept of talent relates to attacking skill and past reputations as those sharks outside 5 are hardly strong defenders and not particularly “talented” in that area.

We beat the sharks in the finals with an equally injury ravaged side with no turbo, marty, siro or thompson. We can certainly do it again.

These two were my favourites, one thinks Graham and 'Nikita' have been our best players, the other doesn't even remember Graham from last years Origin series (or Fifita who also played an okay SOO or 2)... actually out of context so they could be referring to SOO players in the backs, although both did also get gigs with Kangaroos and Dugan did well to play 12 SOO and 12 times for Kangaroos (7 tries) without ever performing in that arena
