I think there were some positives from this game even though I was swearing quite a bit. Didn't Brailey play the full 80 or close to it? Uele has given us some size off the bench. We didn't seem to get penalised anywhere near like we normally do.
We actually had variety in attack which I much prefer to the traditional 5 hit-ups then kick routine. I was watching without sound which helps as I didn't have to listen to commentators talking trash too.

We started playing expansive towards the end it looked good when it clicked didn’t it.. but there was a whole lot of one out hit ups especially in the first half.. way way too many.

We need to have more players pushing up with the ball runner following the ball.

Yeah JB did well, It would be good having a forward/utility on the bench instead of another 9

In your head, rent free
looking at the stats, it is honestly a game of opportunities

we had more possession, made more line breaks, received more penalties had double the offloads and made the same amount of errors, yet the game was over after 50 minutes

the turning point, like nikoras try against the cowboys, was the horrible decision just before half time. just see the half out

Exactly.. can’t say we have ever been a team that kicks down the door when opportunity knocks.. 2016 we were ruthless and clinical for massive chunks of the season. Since then we have been flakey and ill disciplined. We do look like we are trying to be a bit more expensive in attack this year.
Play to our potential against panthers who are under the pump more than us and we can go forward from there. Only watched that final against the panthers again last week, jeez we nearly and probably should have lost that one.

also you can't say things like 'take away that 10 minutes when the roosters scored 3 try's and we are ahead" to gloss over things. the fact is we DID had that horrid 10-15 minutes and that's a big issue.

the roosters wont care they won the game in that early period after half time, doesn't matter when you win it just that you do, they did it then and we lost it then.

the roosters certainty wont be stressing out thinking take away that 10 mins and we lost that game and were crap - they have that in them and we opened the door

I get that the game was more competitive and toughly fought than the scoreline or that roosters point scoring blitz suggets but we also showed we can go on our own run of points.
the roosters might be thinking we should have won 30-0 but likewise the fact is they didn't, they got loose and didn't contain our nothing to lose, throw caution to the wind attack.

You are right, all 5 of our games have pretty much been there for us to win..in time the boys especially the younger ones and the coach should all be better for the runs.

Time and a bit of luck with injuries is all we need.

I thought we'd make top 4 at the start of the year but that might be doubtful now.

That's fine. If we get our full team on the paddock at the back end I think we have the kind of team that could go on a massive roll.

It's pretty obvious we are on a rebuilding phase now with Morris in as coach, I think it looks to me like we are attempting to play more open & expansive football with Morris which will be good eventually. It hasn't helped with one of the key guys out for a while in Moylan though. We have already made quite a few line breaks then usual this year. This will take time to build on & get combinations built on.

I missed most of the game, lucky I missed our horrid defensive 10 minutes but it was good to see us score 16 in 20 minutes in the end. Still, I don't know what Johnson was thinking with that 1st tackle kick right on half time which started our spiralling 10 minutes unfortunately.

We're good enough on paper for top 4 I think but injuries will play a big role in that

Had a very disrupted start to the season

I think we are first for line breaks made

Typical Cronulla then, if we are first for line breaks made but then also first for passes dropped we would be a lot higher up the table, we would have scored a fair few more points.

Mate, I'm sure we will, it's only very early on in the season but I'm just a bit disappointed to see those 2 stats. Lets hope we will fire at the right time.

Just pulling your leg mate.

I think we'll be OK but it might take some time.

Patience.

I've only been able to watch 1 full game this season because of other commitments & that was rd 1 against Newcastle but I think I should be able to watch a lot more full games now, lets hope I can see a change now.

Mate that should be your signature, you’ve been saying that for three years and I’m still waiting to see them flick this mysterious switch.

You must have me mixed up with someone else mate unless you've been misreading my sarcasm.

I was extremely disappointed in the past two years as were all of us.

We'll be better this year but we've been dealt some bad luck with Moyza and Wade out, we just can't afford that.

Comment was somewhat tongue in cheek. I’ve kinda adjusted to your sarcasm over the years mate haha. But I know folks have been saying something along those lines for a good three years now and it rarely, if not, never truly happened. I know we made the prelim last year but did any of you get the feeling we truly flicked that imaginary switch?

New combos & new coaches always take time, look at Broncos this year, they are a prime example haha. It's still only fairly early on in the season. I dont think we've been able to have much of the same 17 all year so far, probably one of the only clubs unable to because of injuries.
