There were some very bad moments and some moments that show we are doing the right thing.. with time this team will get a whole lot better.

It was the type of loss we needed, the young boys will take a lot from that game.

Yep. We will be there at the pointy end of the season. Created enough chances tonight but couldn't execute.

Some of you blokes are a ****ing embarrassment.

Need to play with some structure and go forward, unfortunately we look like a 20’s team

I know it’s a small thing, but geez it annoyed me after the kick off penalty when Cronk took the kick to touch from 6m past the mark. The NRL is so obsessed with fiddling with the controversial rules that they forget to enforce the really simple ones. Walking off the mark was rife in this game also. Both teams. Don’t get me started on forward passes.

As far as our performance - yep - 11 minutes of awful footy and two bombed tries. Otherwise we are in the contest.

Not sure I like the hot potato, but where were the shifts to Capewell and Morris in the first 60 minutes... and why was Johnson pinned to one side of the park until we got 30 down... and why did Dugan start linking in the backline only with 10 to go?

Good performance from Capewell. Looked likely with nearly every touch.

I reckon we totally went away from morris’ game plan when we went 30 down. Morris needs to take a really good look at what we did in that final 20 and work with some of the creative players we have. When it was sticking it looked really good. 14 point loss to a team that is littered with stars isn’t too bad of a result but we need to get better very quickly. Morris has a huge job on his hand because we look well off the pace even though it’s only early days

Yeah that shat me off too. He was a mile off the mark. At the very least make him kick it again but there’s absolutely no excuse for not knowing the mark so it’s just blatant bs they shouldn’t be allowed to get away with.

Refs were almost as bad for the whole game as we were for that 10 minutes or so.

Not even blaming refs for the loss, blame us for the loss but **** they make it hard

Only a 13,000 crowd 25min bar lines first half. Shut the bars down 15mins into the 2nd half.
What a joke no wonder people stay at home to watch that garbage.

Its actually quite pathetic isn't it. its like people are forgetting who we have out and the importance they have to our team

I'd be more worried if we are playing like that at full strength in 3 months time

yeah you’re right, just keep looking at the injured list

Add Fifita to that list who went off in the second half and it’s 1000+ and 5 reps yet we still looked on top in the final 25mins

take out that 12 mins the remaining 68 mins it was 16-6 to us so I am stoked with that

Haven't read any of the stuff posted on here as I just got back from watching at the pub.

I thought all we were lacking was some polish and confidence. We created heaps of opportunities but just couldn't finish them off.

Reckon the Rooters took their foot off the gas toward the end but proud that the boys stuck with it and put on a showing in the last 20.

We have been guilty of only putting in 40 min efforts. At least tonight we turned up for 70 min. Will be a good wake up call to the young guys that 1st grade requires a 80 min team effort. Whilst annoyed we lost as long as we can take something away from a game against the ruthless defending champions im more than happy consider the players we had out.

I'm never happy with a loss but we need to put it into perspective.

With 800-900 games worth of experience sitting on the sideline before this match and others carrying niggling injuries (SJ, Dugan) it was always going to be tough against the reigning premiers (who had a blinder last week).

We have a lot of debutants this season and players with less than a handful of games (Nikora, B Brailey, Xerri, Uele, Williams, Katoa). All promising young players with bright futures but will need to accept that they will have rocks and diamond moments. Let's hope their confidence hasn't taken too big a hit and that they come out swinging against the pennies.

We did create early chances and competed for the majority of the game. I know its hard to be patient as the season can slip away very quickly, but if we can stay close enough early on in the season we can push for a good finish when we get all our experience back on deck (hoping sooner rather than when it's too late)!

I’ve always liked a qik turn around after a disappointing effort. Qik post match and Monday morning spray and video session then fully focused and raring to go come Thursday night.

It’s funny, parra get beat by 14 By the roosters and it’s “Brave eels go down to roosters” - we lose by 14 and it’s “Roosters carve up Cronulla” “Roosters demolish Sharks”

hmmm..

That's because the Eels were the better side for 60 minutes. We only scored when they took their foot off our throat. If we took our chances it's a different game but we didn't and the headlines are accurate.

We were pretty competitive before we went to garbage though, so I’m willing to still give our players some credit for fighting their way back into the game.

Not like it was some mediocre side that just went to sleep at the end and let us walk a few tries in. The boys had to work hard and play fairly well to get those tries.

uh you do realise all their points came in a 20min period as well right? The 60mins outside that we were 16-0. We looked the better side for the last 25mins and the first half was pretty much even. The eels also didn’t have 4-5 of their best players on the sidelines. Take out that 10mins were they scored 4 tries and we were on top

We did look good, but we had our chances early when they couldnt hold the pill. Once we gave up stupid errors and pens they cracked us open. They destroyed us in 20 minutes, we had close to the whole first half to do the same but we couldn't.

Not looking for an argument mate just watching the two games the Eels looked much more competitive than we did. Different headline if we take our chances on the two Nikora line breaks

I think there were some positives from this game even though I was swearing quite a bit. Didn't Brailey play the full 80 or close to it? Uele has given us some size off the bench. We didn't seem to get penalised anywhere near like we normally do.
We actually had variety in attack which I much prefer to the traditional 5 hit-ups then kick routine. I was watching without sound which helps as I didn't have to listen to commentators talking trash too.
