Ok, just watched the second half.
Really proud of the boys with the effort despite our injuries during the game.
The good points:
Despite kicking to Fergo too much, I thought Townsend was the best for us. Tried hard all night and ran the team as best he could with the amount of troops down.
Even though he didn’t get a try, I thought Xerri was outstanding in his first game. Broke tackles, looked dangerous and the way he cruised path Gutherson to chase that ball was scintillating. Gutherson is no slouch by any means.
Matty Prior and Fifs we’re very strong, did they go off at all? I don’t think Fifita did.
We tried to play attacking football, lots of second phase play and we seemed to control the ball better.
Things that pissed me off:
Referee performance below par, not just for us but some even went against Parra that were ridiculous.
Forward passes and blatant ones by Parra not called.
The constant hero worship of Parra by the Fox commentators. We bag the Ch 9 ones so often but these guys were horrendous.
Blocker was downright embarrassing in some of the things he was saying.
Mitchell Moses comes into Origin contention? Please, give me a break. He’s nowhere near that level, what the hell are they talking about.
We constantly kicked to Fergo. Stupid.
They gave Johnny Morris credit for Feki’s second try as a very brave and innovative move and good to see it worked well. They don’t do much research do they, we’ve put that move on at least once before during Flanno’s reign.
Feki needs to go when we get Moylan back. I know he scored two tries but he was gifted one and just had to catch the ball for the other. Xerri takes his spot for mine.
Well who knows what team we’re going to put out next week.
There’ll be no Moylan or Woods for sure with big doubts on Dugan and Morris as well.
