Happy taking the 2 all night long.

Video red intervening is a tough one because it would be nice t remove the howlers (eg. Lewis sin bin) but every time they allow it they just start using it way too much.

Personally I’d like to see the video ref used in less scenarios than it is now. I don’t like when they send it upstairs to figure out whether it is a dropout or a tap. Make a call. Get on with it.
Personally I dont mind us taking the 2 this much either, that is what we do, it is our natural defensive game but what frustrated me tonight was all the chances & penalties we got, 14-16 seem to be our bogey numbers this year. We havent got over 16 all year.

Anyone else think that the Chambers choker hold should be worth a very long suspension? IMO there is no room for that in the game and he should be made an example of to try to stamp it out.

I think so, absolute disgraceful act. To lock both arms together and choke is pure foul play.

I think we need to take the 2 every time. New rule interpretations has meant more penalties. We would be stupid not to take these gifts.

Unless we can keep our defence structured like it was all night last night we cant expect to win every game with only around 14 points. We have to take the risk sometimes & go for the try. For these gritty games I'll be happy to take the 2 at times though.

I thought our game management regarding penalty options was good last night.
We had the chance to take 2 late in the game when we were up by 10 but they went for a try.
I think they played it out well and made the correct call on taking the 2 on offer when it was most advantageous and the tap pushing for a try on the other occasions.

In these games dont get me wrong, with 10 minutes left & if we are up by only a converted try take the 2 for all means, get us ahead by 8 or 14. We will get the ball back aswell. We will have to take the risk at times during the year though, especially if its only early on in the game.

Seeing a referee have the guts to finally make a stand against Smith & his backchatting was great. I could tell he didnt like it, he wasnt use to it. He wouldnt walk off for 10-30 seconds either haha. Watching it from my local tavern, seeing all those Cronulla fans mock him was pretty funny. Tbf, Im a Queenslander though but I am getting over Smith & his backchatting every game & trying to officiate the game himself lol.

So I didn’t have much of a hope going in to last night but our defence was extraordinary. Lewis made a huge difference he was best in ground in my opinion. The future looks bright once we get Moylan and Dugan back. I think we need to keep hodgo in the side just for that ability to direct the team around and his defence is top notch. Put Moylan at the back and Dugan in the centers and our team will improve 10 fold. Both in attack and defence.

Let’s hope we back it up with a great performance next week against the Roos

Bigger cheer from the crowd than winning the grand final watching golden boy get sent off - we were delirious with what had just occurred. Only now can a league fan say they have seen it all. The ref shoulda singed autographs after the game and taken home a piece of turf for the pool room - I knew some day one of em was gunna crack against Smith after all the 'constructive advice' he has given out to them over the years

He wasted time before stepping over the sideline to allow an interchange to take place, Bellamy sending on his bench hooker

Lee in full flight with that new thug cut - Airwick G in da house

Edrick Lee is obviously a fill in player for us but what were everyones thoughts on him apart from that first dropped ball he did? He had a quiet game but I thought he was solid apart from his first dropped bombed try. He was solid when needed, I'll be happy to have him fill in for us again when needed.

I said it during the pre season trials, he is running the ball back with alot more strength and gusto which I like (no doubt Flanno wants this as well) . I wish he had better hands though and would need to see more of him in FG to determine where his defense is at
