Top 4 spot on the line. Fortunately we have a good history of turning up for such games in the last round....

This should be an absolute cracker. Doggies looked good against the Dragons, our blokes are in form. Really looking forward to this one.

Yep this definitely won't be an easy game. It's possible we won't have to win though to stay 4th which would be nice.

This will be a good game for us leading into semi final football, the last few weeks have seen the Dogs get some mojo in their performance, yesterday they completed sets very well, keeping it simple & executing well, we will need to start our semi final football a week early cause this is what we'll get coming up against from a well prepared high completions semi final Storm outfit.

I wonder if the Dogs will bring some of their eligible players back to the Intrust cup since alot are eligible. They've got a few players who can go down to play and give that comp a crack.

So Dogs did us a solid by smashing the Dragons but unfortunately we now have to play that very same team while the Dragons get a chance to put on a score against the team we just did in Newy. But the way the dragons are going they will be lucky to even beat Newcastle.

Dogs have some players in very good form and have found confidence with some good wins and clicking combinations.
Lachlan Lewis will give our outside backs their biggest test in weeks with his precision kicking in the air and on the deck.

Upside of playing them in this form is the confidence it will give our boys should we get the win.
Will need Moylan back to help us crack their new found resolve and aggression in defense.

Even if we were to lose against the Dogs the teams currently below would still need to win their games by a healthy margin to take 4th spot off us

A win or close loss will do it for us. However we will know what we need to do by the time our game rolls around as everyone except broncos play before us. I can see the broncos putting on a score against manly though but they are 60 behind us and even if we lost by 10 I don’t think they will put 50+ on manly

If souths lose we should really be pushing for that #3 spot. 10 point loss to them and a 12 point win for us will see us third and play roosters in SYD - that would be a cracker

I think we will win but not by much. Sharks 22-20

I'd expect Broncos to win. And probably win well.

If they jump Panthers and Saints then there is a Brisbane final week 1. If they jump us as well, there'll be one in week 2 or 3. If not, there's no Brisbane final is possible for the whole series. I don't think the NRL will like that scenario.

Dragons were really rubbish though, they had no Widdop and Vaughan, lost Aitken and Nightingale during the game and generally lack any mental fortitude or desire.

Sharks will be a different story. Ramien and Moylan back.

Basically exactly what I came here to say.

We get to have a semi-final training run a week early. If we are serious we need to beat them regardless of what they bring.

I don't think we can have another loss this year and still win it to be honest. Even though it's likely we could get away with losing two. We need to basically be on our 'run' right now, all the way to the GF.

It's time to put away whatever complacency was affecting us this season. It's the weakest comp in a long time. It's the kind of comp you'd be kicking yourself later for not giving it a crack. Our team isn't anywhere near as strong as it has been in the past yet we're still up against some competition that aren't that great either.

Weirdest season. Let's ****ing do it. These are the kinds of seasons the Storm just win by default. **** that!

If things fall our way and we don't need to win to stay in the 4, does Flanno rest a few guys?

I know it's harder now though with how teams are announced.

Agree

I've had to do a double take that we are likely to finish 4th. A few weeks back this seemed beyond us and I was resigned to 6th or 7th place. We havn't even been all that convincing this year but have worked hard enough to get in this position. Let's get it together and play to our ability (which has a very high ceiling) for the next month and we can do anything in the comp. Every team in the 8 looks vulnerable

Dragons were really rubbish though, they had no Widdop and Vaughan, lost Aitken and Nightingale during the game and generally lack any mental fortitude or desire.

True, plus the Dragons are carrying the worst halfback in the comp right now.

I still expect a tight tussle with the Dogs, it usually is

And the highest paid haha. Wonder how their forums are looking atm.
the meltdown is real - they are ashamed of their club right now

I'm glad Lance also played for the Sharkies and at least we could get a good win for him yesterday

With a few of the bulldogs qualifying for ISP finals on the weekend, would they play NRL this week or the ISP semi.
