He's started making the sort of poor decisions, that if they continue, can make him start to second guess all of his other decisions. Once you make too many bad decisions in a game they can haunt you. Rather than have that happen, drop him in order to save him from himself. He can play his natural game again on a smaller stage, and then have a pre season to sort himself out before the first grade pressure cooker again next year. I reckon it's good player management. Just like giving Mills another taste of first grade when it doesn't matter is good management.
