It is not “all of a sudden”. If you check out the Nikora thread there was a lot of criticism starting in June 2019.

I for one was very outspoken about Nikora playing poorly for much of last year. My first comments were following the round 5 loss in mid April.

I do agree though that many on here haven’t rated Soro.

You’re right. For a long time Nikora hasn’t been better then average and was called out for It - that right side with SJ had issues for a long time.. this year what’s different is there’s options and Nikora at the moment isn’t outplaying them.

Talakai has obviously earned the spot now up to Nikora to get it back.. I rate Nikora but his game hasn’t changed and he hasn’t improved on it

The thing with Nikora is if he isn't starting, I don't see how we can use from the bench.

I'm not saying Talakai doesn't deserve his spot, my word he deserves his spot in the 17 but Sorro who's in the same position was in very poor form aswell & somehow for quite a few weeks he kept getting picked, Nikora goes off form for just a few weeks & gets dropped from the 17 completely. On his day he has top potential for us I reckon.

Sorro hasn't had bad form all year. Nikora has been down in form for 12 months
Sorro and Jack Williams do get dropped if they put in a couple weeks of poor performances, Nikora on the other hand was afforded far more patience before the trigger was pulled.

You can only carry potential so long on the field if it isn't giving you reliable output. Nikora will bounce back eventually but finding a place for him in this team is becoming harder with better options becoming available to us in 2020 and I doubt we could turn him into a good centre.

Needs to bulk up too over the off season

Nikora was playing awesome in 2019 and Sorro wasn't. In 2020 Nikora has been playing rubbish and Sorro has been good.

As their performances changed, so did people's opinion.

yea it's not an agenda thing with Nikora or Soro, the feedback is inline with their relative form over time. We have warmed more towards Soro and cooled off on Nikora

I apologise if I have a different opinion regarding certain players to a few of you but I thought this was a forum & I thought I have/had a right to disagree & think it's a bit harsh for him to be dropped completely. I love Talakai & want him to keep going as hard as he is, no doubt he deserves his spot but no offence to him, he'll probably go off form eventually aswell, so will Rudolf.

You can't demote him to the bench or the wing like more versatile players though. he either has to start or don't select him and he is no longer doing enough to justify his position, I don't think it's harsh coach has showed him a lot of loyalty and a spell on the sidelines might be good for him which in turn is better for the team down the track

Feels like Sorro's performance could go either way at the moment, but he has good upside potential. I like him in to start. He's plenty tough, has a good workrate and is mobile. But yeah, if we're looking for a bench with impact I'm not seeing that from him consistently at the moment, so better options are available.

Jack really doesn't look like he's offering anything that can get him into this side regularly, does he? Even without the errors he's a bit of an old school metre eater, which is less in favour these days. He's kind of falling into the Nikora bucket.

I feel the opposite in 2020 - Sorro is consistent and we know what we will get from him performance wise, which is perfect for a fringe/depth player. you don't have to roll the dice selecting him anymore, you know he will come in and do a good job.
hes been unlucky to cop some injuries which have cut down his already limited minutes of game time

Jack plays hard and fast but doesn't look as much a threat in terms of breaking the line or creating an opportunity

I am more then aware of that about players form but I'm still entitled to my opinion that Nikora is still a decent player, I was just stating that I think it's ridiculous that he's lost he's spot in the full 17 all of a sudden. If Sorro has a few poor games then you'd surely think Nikora should get another run.

Not all of a sudden mate, been on the cards a while and he has had warnings about it.

Interesting

I noticed in the captains run they had Katoa on the left again, thought was Ronaldo to mark up against Sami as he's a pretty big winger (I actually don't know what side Sami plays so big assumption)

Yeah - Bomber said that he thinks Ronaldo is a very good defensive player and he is wanted him marking up on Sivo last week. The cluster**** on the right edge defence versus Brisbane was probably a factor too.

BTW, the Titans lose nothing with Sami out and Thompson in.

Somehow I think Wilson and Pops will agree with me.

Thompson could score 3 by being Johnny on the spot and/or give em up.

Having a look at the ladder and draw, we really need to win this one, we are one win ahead of manly, we win they lose (Vs Newcastle) With our better F/a we will be in effect be 3 wins ahead but with a tougher run home. Still hoping we can get to 5/6 on the ladder by seasons end (top4 is a bridge to far in my opinion) but really want to wriggle away from the teams outside the 8.
