I think we could have played better on some occasions but I was pretty pleased in general though with the game & how we didn't give in, we've got to remember aswell though that was a pretty young team one of our youngest we've played in ages. Ferris & Trindall both played well on debut I thought, both deserve another chance when they get the chance.

On the other hand, we've got to improve our defence immensely if we want to be a force in the 8 & keep in the 8 all the way. Next week will be a challenge & show where we are compared to the top challengers compared to Penrith a few weeks back considering we are facing Parra next week.

That looked like a different outfit to me tonight. The passes seemed faster and guys were running harder. Some truly outstanding moments: Wade collecting that drop-out, Toby gaining meters moving backwards and the enthusiasm of the debutants.
I think they were pretty bloody great.

We weren't great. Plenty to fix.

Simply can't see it happening. We are leaking points everywhere, sure it might be partially a combo thing, but we still should be better. I can't believe how often teams bust us open, not just on our line but in their own 20.

Wont leak so many points with Dugan and a healthy Wade on the left
Wont leak so many points with Ramian and Talakai on the right
IF we can keep the same cattle on the park week in , week out

Anyway, our 2nd last try we scored at the end off that good banana kick by Ronaldo, hate to say it but did Tracey look at tad offside? He looked a little to me tbf. We still would have won though because Uele once again scored another try right at the end, he loves his tries for a big prop haha!

Chicken legs was right in line with the play. If he was offside he wouldn't called it.

Just rewatched, it’s even better second time around. Down 8 with about 12 to go and they came up with a strip on Johnson I really did think we were toast. Jeez Nikora was even worse than I thought in live running.

**** oath. I'm not a ref basher or conspiracy theorist but Chech was not giving us an inch. Broncos laid on like pre-COVID footy & we couldn't buy a set restart.

Whilst they were slowing it down worse than us, Woods was bloody laying over a few that never got called, and I swear his foot wasn’t even in the same postcode of the ball when he got up to play it, other than the fumble they never called him once.

With 10 mins to go I thought we had blown it, and effing Vautin was annoying me so much that I was on the verge of throwing something heavy at my TV.

So I turned it off ! I calmed down after about 20 mins and checked the score. HALLELUJAH !!!! Three tries in 10 mins. Sure didn't see that coming. Now I'm not saying that the late resurgence was down to me, but I have a history of putting the mockers on the team by watching games live, and thank Christ it didn't happen on GF day, 2016.

Don't worry about that mate, I hate to say it but tbh I'd actually given up on us aswell with 10 to go! I kept on watching it though & could not believe it! As another Cronulla fan next to me said though that we should never give up, that is my bad now & I'll accept that haha!

In your head, rent free
all in all, this was a very good win

we have had some indifferent wins but to snatch that win with 10 to go gave me 2016 vibes -down and out but manage a win

defence in the new nrl isnt as important as attack, you need to be able to score in the fast game and we are doing that in spades

we also dont have a defensive coach for someone who asked, we are the most under resourced coaching unit in the nrl, which makes what bomber is doing even better

9 players, 9, were a part of our jets grand final winning team - its mental

we may not have an open premiership window now but if we can keep this core together and get them games and around the squad, our window will open again shortly, especially when we have a full cap, more coaching structure, a new leagues club and ground

future looks bright

btw, pages 10 through 20 is some of the most incredible reading you will get

Thanks for that summation .
In-stills even more optimism moving forward
I was asking about defensive coach , shame we don't have this area resourced .
What's your take on Sandercock ?
What is he offering the most ?

I know Sandercock (can't take that name seriously) came in and they did some adjustments to the defence and trying some new things.

Clearly hasn't panned out.

So not sure if he's the defensive coach but he's had input into the defense. We really do need to give Bomber some more assistance in the coaching ranks.
