Ref never called "held" so he's free game ya pansy

Coote was motionless on the ground and was clearly in a bit of pain, launching on his back was unnecessary. Whether he was held or not is irrelevant. If it happened to 1 of our players everyone would blow up. And thered be discussions about the ref thrown in too

Maloney only did it as a twitch reaction to the refs yelling loudly and urgently "play on". It was scramble defence.

Ethan Lowe Goal kicking genius. Actually surprised at his efforts last night as he has been pretty good up until last night

You blokes are kidding yourselfs. It was a grub act from Maloney, period. There's no defending it.

I don't know if it was caught on T.V. but Maloney and Coote were sledging each other all game, that's why Maloney did it.

So what if the ref called play on, it was clear to every man and his dog that Coote was hurt. It wasn't a tough play, all it did was make Maloney look like a pussy.

League is a hard game but there's nothing tough about doing that to an injured player, and he was clearly injured.

yea coote wasn't going anywhere

but I thought a hand had already been laid on him by another shark so dunno why refs didn't deem tackle was already complete

jimmy racked up another high shot as well, must be leading the comp in that stat

coote was so hurt he got up and played the ball, ref yelled play on maloney did what could have jumped higher if he wanted to

Wait, so because it turned out that Coote wasn't injured that means it wasn't a grubby play? Hahahahaha you're joking right?

My apologies to Maloney, I didn't know that grubby plays were only determined by whether or not the player was injured afterwards. Glad I now know.

I'd also like to apologise to all the players I crisitised for purposely twisting and yanking Greg Inglis' knee after he came back from injury a few years ago. Greg got up and played the ball so it was all sweet, love ya stuff boys! Keep twisting those knees!

Voluntary tackle deserves what Maloney did. According to the rules it should have been a penalty to us.

Coote may have been a bit sore but I guarantee if that was a chance to score a try he wouldn't have laid there like he was knocked out cold. Only reason he stayed down & didn't attempt further ground is he was on his goal line & didn't want to give away a drop out.

I cant say i agree, i was in the Monty Porter stand, I didn't know Coote was hurt before Jimmy tackled him or jumped on him, maybe watching on TV which i am yet to do proves otherwise but to me, i couldn't tell.

Another argument for another day but i hate the lay down on the ground thing, its a very grey area what or when the player is tackled, different circumstances for this argument but the staying low on the ground near the in goal to avoid getting pushed back in the in goal really annoys me & its needs looking at or the rule/interpretation needs to be cleared up.

So that was our last game before the disrupted period of SOO. I'm not happy with how we're playing but to be 8 and 3, even if we were playing well, is bloody good after losing Mick and Barba. Sort out our completitions and we're up to this like you wouldn't believe.

Spot on with that last bit. Theres gunna be a few games where those errors cost us, but if we can be a bit more polished in attack and sensible, coupled with our great defence, we have a real shot at back to back
